Christmas Angels... in loving memory of my Mom ♥

Hi Everyone,

Hope you all have a lovely Christmas with all your loved ones. As you all may remember I’ve lost my mom on 2nd Christmas Day 2011. So that is exactly 2 years ago today. Just like last year I wanted to do something special for her, to honor her. And just because I miss her. This way she is kinda with me/us on my nails (lol I know that probably sounds stupid ;) but I like doing something special).

I chose to do Angels (or Cherubs or how you want to call them ;)) Cause my mommy is an angel and hope she is looking down from Heaven.

A nude base from P2 680 glamour. On top of that a white/gold shimmer polish from a really old LE from Catrice called African Beauty C01 Savanna Lodge. Stamped twinkle golden holo stars with China Glaze GR8 and Moyou Festive (aka Christmas) 01. Made stamping decals from the Angels from Moyou Artist 10 and also from the heart on that plate (removed the arrow). Colored the angels with a  Konad stamping polish mix I’ve made and China Glaze GR8 (also used that to color the heart). Stamped gold and black stars from Moyou Festive (aka Christmas) 01 using China Glaze 2030 and Konad SN black. Stamped the word Mom in the heart from Moyou Biker 08 with Konad SN black.

Here another picture of my nails with different lighting.

The images are pretty big so they’ve lost most of their wings ;) wish Moyou made these a little smaller, my nails aren’t that width. But I do really like this mani ♥

Also a picture of just the base with the holo twinkle stars.

Thanks for reading.

Wishing you all a wonderful day ♥

Big Christmas hugs

Sea and shells

Hi everyone,

Today something I've made a few weeks ago, like I said I am so behind with posting. I actually did this when the challenge in AIS was saran wrap, but never posted them...lol :)

Base P2 Far East So close LE 030 Bluish green, saran wrapped with Catrice 400 Blue Cara Ciao. On my ring finger just the P2 polish with a layer of Barry M confetti effect Bubblegum. Stamped with Cheeky Jumbo 2 Tropical Holiday and Konad SN white.

And as you all know by know I love making a matching pedi in the Summer :)

And some swatches of just the P2 base polish.

And a pic of the saran wrap base and the Barry M confetti ring finger.

Thanks for reading :)

Have a nice day.

Fashion Inspired: very colorful gradient dress

Hi everyone,

Today I have another Fashion Inspired mani for you :) It really is one of my favorite theme's. I wanted to do something colorful, so I looked for a colorful dress that I really like. This weeks theme for Sassy Saturday is Fashion Inspired, so it was a good oppertunity for me to do this again :) I now have so many more ideas and saved some pictures of dresses :)

A gradient with CG I'm with the Lifeguard, CG Towel Boy Toy, CG Hang Ten-Toes and Color Club Pucci-licious with a holo glitter topcoat from Catrice on top.

Stamped with H20 using Konad PSN apple green, SN pastel blue, SN pink pearl and SN pastel violet. Stamped again over it with Kleancolor metallic green, aque, pink and purple.

And another picture of just the nails.

The gradient base.

All the polishes I've used for this.

And a collage of all the pictures together :)

Thanks for reading!

Have a nice day :)

Ylin mood polish with stamping :)

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I really felt like wearing a mood polish again :) So I decided to try my Ylin mood no 7 polish that I got from The Born Pretty Store :) It is a really cool nail polish it turns blue when it gets warm and is purple when it is cold. But most of the time I have blue nail beds and purple tips. I have played with it under the tap so I have a lot of swatches but first I'll show you it with stamping on it :).

Base Ylin mood polish no 7. My nail beds are warm (blue) en my nail tips cold (purple) with a layer Catrice ¿Holo Qué Tal? topcoat for some pink shimmer. Stamped with Konad M88 and Kleancolor metallic purple and metallic aqua.

This is how it looks like when my hands are cold.

With different light so you see the stamping a bit better.

And another one with also different lighting.

Here a swatch of the Ylin polish with the Catrice ¿Holo Qué Tal? topcoat on it.
You see my middle finger was still a bit cold, because there is a purple spot on it.

And now some swatches of the Ylin mood polish no 7. Like I said I was playing with it under the water, so my nails/hands are wet in these pictures.
 Cold so they are purple.

Warm so they are blue :)

 Warm and cold.

Just playing with some water drops on it.

And the last picture is how it looks most of the time. Blue nail beds and purple tips.

I really love this polish, in the bottle it looks a bit strange, a mix of different colors (pink, purple, dark blue) and shaking it did not made it better. But you don't see any of this on the nail.

You can buy this and other mood changing polishes at The Born Pretty Store

Thanks for reading!

Have a nice weekend :)

Be Strong!

Hi everyone,

Today something special that is inspired by a song  from Delta Goodrem - Be Strong

"And when you're like a single flower, Whose colors have turned to shades of grey, Well hang on, Be strong"

I have made these for the Empowering Woman contest on  Lacquer Or Leave Her. She has this contest to raise awareness about Inspire me 2 Aspire and is looking for women from all walks of life to be mentors for a chat event on International Women's Day (March 8th) Click link for more info. I wasn't planning on entering since I don't feel like I can inspire anyone and see my self as a failure when it comes to career. Plus English isn't my native language so I am always afraid that can cause problems in a chat. But then I thought I can help raising awareness by entering and writing this blogpost about it ;) (maybe some of you want to be a mentot in that chat) So I made an entry for this contest, my entry is totally different from all the amazing entries she already received. But I thought this song and the story behind it is inspirational (see the rest of my blogpost).

I find her songs/ lyrics especially this one beautiful  and inspirational when you feel down for some reason it will gives you power to be strong and hang on and don’t give up. And Delta is a beautiful empowering woman who overcome Hodgkin's Lymphoman cancer at the age of 18. Be strong is inspired by that period of her life. She was strong did not give up and now is a beautiful strong adult woman with an amazing music career. And she got strength and inspiration from her bad period in life.

"And when you're like a single flower, Whose colors have turned to shades of grey, Well hang on, Be strong"

Base a gradient of Catrice Pebbles Beach and Konad SN pastel violet with China Glaze Wireless holographic topcoat on top, stamped with Konad SN black, SN green, Color Club Wild at Heart, Color Club Revvvulotion and Konad SN white and SN yellow for the dots. Imageplate M25 for the flower stalk with leaves and XL F for the flower.

From thumb to pinkie the flower turns in to shades of grey but from pinkie to thumb the flower gets his colors back :)

I used purple colors because I’ve read that purple flowers can represent dignity, mystery, success, magic and pride. Overall, this color represents admiration and accomplishment. So I felt that fits the theme of empowerment too. You can admire other women /men /things in live /songs… and they can inspire you to accomplish your own hopes and dreams.

Some more pictures of this creation in different lighting.

You can see the grey colors slowly fade away more on each finger and that the flower gets his beautiful purple and green colors back :)

I’ve read Delta Goodrem wrote this song for a fellow cancer patient who unfortunately died a couple of years later (it means a lot to me since my mom died a bit more then a year ago at a very rare type of non Hodgkin’s Lymphoman Leukemia cancer) and I am glad to read there are people who overcome cancer... well not exactly the same type my mom had but something a bit similar. And it makes me happy she survived at her very young age of 18 and makes beautiful songs. To be completely honest listening to this song also always makes me cry a bit because then I have to think of my mom who was also very strong but did not win the cancer battle. But kept believing in a miracle until the very end. And even I sometimes have to cry when I hear it also gives me strength.

So no matter how bad things seem, never give up, be strong, keep the faith, have hope and pursue your dreams!

I know it is easier said then down, but it sure is something I want to believe in or/and try.

"And when you're like a single flower, Whose colors have turned to shades of grey, Well hang on, Be strong"

V-day 2013 pastel gradient with hearts and kisses

Hi Everyone,

Today a V-day creation I've made today :) I was inspired by something I've made in 2009 but back then I used loose glitter over the sponging instead of a glitter topcoat and also used a different purple. Also had more hearts and no kisses see this post.

Sponged the base with Konad SN pastel pink, SN white and SN pastel violet, holo glitter topcoat from INM Nothern Lights. Stamped with M2, M3, M4, M18, M59, M84 Konad SN magenta and Catrice Forget me not.

Some more pictures.

And some pictures of the sponges base with the holo glitter topcoat.

I also made something like this (or more like the one I've made in 2009) last year with different colors and made my first and only video of it last year see this post.

I've entered these in a Valentines Contest from Konad if you like them you can "like"  my picture to vote and ofcourse see all the other pretty nails and like the ones you like too ;) Some have over 300 likes I know I won't make that, but that is okay I just love making themed nails for contest/challenges and like I always say having fun is most important :)

Thanks for reading.

Enjoy your day :)

Fire and Ice from 2009

Hi Everyone,

The challenge this week on AIS was using tape and stamping, but I am sick so I don't feel like doing my nails. Maybe if I feel better I will do a tape mani later this week, because I finally have some striping tape and love to use it.

So today I'll show you a really old tape mani I made in January 2009 for a fire and ice themed contest. The red representing the fire and the white the ice, I also took pics in the snow with fire in the background ;) It is not very neat, but I remember that I was really proud of this back then :) I used normal tape for this and I remember it being really hard to do..lol :)

I am not sure what polishes I've used I think the white was from P2 and the red I know for sure was from Catrice (don't know name or numbers) Stamped with Konad imageplate M59 and half of the image with SN white and the other half with SN red.

And a collage with the fire in the backgorund :)

This was my contest entry in January 2009...lol :)

Thanks for reading, hope I feel better soon I have the same nails now for more then a week ;)

My sad gray Mommy memorial Christmas nails :(

Hi Everyone,
Today it's been exactly a year that my mom died...it was 2nd Christmas day 2011. So I decided to make some less happy Christmas nails for Christmas. I've been making happy nails for a couple of weeks already and I really wanted to make these now for my mommy, cause I don't feel happy at all. And as you know I love doing my nails for special things/themes/occasions. And I really like making sort of landscape/scenery nails too.
I did a black, gray, white gradient for my zebra fashion nails and I really like that, so I decided to do it again but then the other way around, so black tips instead of black at the cuticles. It gives the whole scene a bit of dramatic, sad feeling, but to make a little more sparkly for Christmas I added a holographic topcoat.
Base a gradient of Essence 50's girls reloaded 01 Ahoy, Catrice 01 Pebbles Beach and Beauty UK Midnight Minx black. Added a layer of Chine Glaze Wireless holographic topcoat. All the snowflakes (bigger and little) are from HB23 stamped with Konad SN white. The rest is stamped with Konad SN black.

Pinkie: trees from Nailways Snowwhite Christmas A-NW00002 plate.
Ring finger: cross from Konad S2, tree from HB33, cute snow bunny from HB38.
Middle finger: big tree HB012, small tree HB33.
Index: snowman from BM318 (I gave him a sad face), tree HB33.
Thumb: the sort of tombstone is actually the slot machine from Konad M48 that I colored in and painted a little cross on top, tree is from HB33 and the word mom and 2011 are made with the numbers and letters on the side of Konad M20 and M11.
Here another picture.

And some swatches of the gradient base.
I like this gradient.

And also a picture of Danbo in my mommy's memorial corner.
With the funeral thank you card (where she is watching the endless sunset in Greece), my little urn with Greek signs, her picture and the funeral card we designed our selves (she took this picture herself on Santorini).

Hope you all have a great Christmas.

Fashion Inspired: black gradient with zebra stripes

Hi Everyone,
Today I'll show you something I made in the beginning of this week for Wacky Laki's Fashion Inspired contest. I had so much fun doing my first Fashion inspired nails, that I did another (Christmas) one today but that is a bit of a fail ;) But of course I will show them later this week too ;)
Here are my first Fashion Inspired nails :) I am not really the animal print kind of girl, but my BF really liked this dress and said I should do these. And I was like well it is the perfect way for me to use animal prints again :) And in the end I was happy with the final result.
Base a black/gray/white gradient with China Glaze Snow, Catrice C01 Pebbles Beach and Beauty UK Midnight Minx black. And stamped with Konad M57 and SN black.
The dress... I would actually wear this despite the fact I don't really like animal print. I think this one is pretty :) You can buy it here at Simplydresses.
 Another picture of my nails.
 Again :)
And some swatches of just the black and white gradient base.

I believe you can see all the entries tomorrow on Wacky Laki and vote for your favorite then :)

I really had so much fun and think I will do Fashion Inspired nails more often :) Like I said did some today on a red base but that was a fail, but will show those next week ;)

Thanks for reading.
And have a nice weekend!

It's a snowy day!

Hi Everyone,

I made these nails last week, before I I made them a bit shorter ;) I realy love making themed nails. They predicted snow this weekend so I decided to make an ice cold winter snowy day on my nails.

Base Essence 50's girls reloaded 01 Ahoy with a gradient of Essence You Rock 05 Speed of light blue, China Glaze Towel Boy Toy and China Glaze Splish Splash. Topcoat Catrice C06 Godfather of pearl for the blue shimmer/glitter. Stamped with XL O (it's a dupe from XL K), Nailways' own Christmas plate (snowwhite collection) A-NW00002, BM318, BM319, HB012, HB23, M11 and M12. Stamped with Konad SN white and Nfu Oh 65 (light blue holo).

Different light.

And some pictures of the gradient base. I really liked this gradient :)

I really like blue :)

This weekend I went to Germany to a Christmas Fair with my sis and my boyfriend. I got some nice cheap polishes for Christmas already :) 3 Flormars and one holo from Kiko...I was soo happy loveee holo.

It was already nine o'clock in the evening. But the shops and the market were open until 10.

Me and my sis at the Christmas fair/market or how you call it ;)

Here you see a crazy pic of me at the Christmas fair with my Chococat nails. It was snowing really hard, it was wet snow but did stayed on my hair and sleeve.

If you look closely you see the snow falling. It was sooo cold and we were soaked, so went inside the shopping mall again for some hot choco ;)

I got this cute warm microwave stuffed animal from boyfriend. If you put it in the microwave it becomes really warm...perfect for cold days. They had many kinds but I loved the black sheep...I sometimes also feel like a black sheep ;)

Me and my black sheep after the long cold snowy Christmas market shopping day.
