Traces in the Snow

Hi everyone,

Today something I've madebefore the weekend, it was snowing again so I thought let's make another Winter mani :) And I have wanted to do this for a while now, ever since I got that Traces plate :)

Base Kiko 401 (a gorgeous blue holo, I am in love with it :)) Stamped with Konad SN white and SN black. The snow at my cuticles is stamped with the sort of gradient image from BM301 (it's perfect for stuff like this :)), the little snowflakes are from HB23, the tree is from Cheeky XL L, the traces and wolf/fox are from Nailways Snowwhite-Traces A-NW00003, the snow dots are made with a dotting tool.

And here of course a lot of swatches of this pretty base color.

I really love this color, as you know I just have a thing for blue polish :)

Thanks for reading, enjoy your day.

A Romance in the Snow

Hi Everyone,

It's getting colder again and maybe next week we will have snow, so I decided to make snowflake nails (again hahaha). I just got this polish and the collection name Snow Jam also fits the theme. And I really wanted to use my new MM03 love plate from Messy Mansion. I just had to have this plate because of the love couples, I used to make love couple decals (as you may remember from some Summer mani's?) but know I can stamp them too. Plus the rest of the plate is also great, and will make more mani's with it this month since it is almost Valentine's Day and the images on this plate are perfect for that :)

I did something similair last year click here. Also with a blue base and snowflakes but without the love couples.

Base Essence Snow Jam LE 01 Goofy-Blue (such a pretty blue with silver shimmer/glass flecks) Stamped with HB23 the bigger blue and white snowflakes using Konad SN pastel blue and SN white. The little snowflakes are from Konad M11 and the love couples from MM03 both stamped with Konad SN white.

Also some swatches of this pretty polish. I really like this color :)

Thank for reading and enjoy your weekend!

My sad gray Mommy memorial Christmas nails :(

Hi Everyone,
Today it's been exactly a year that my mom died...it was 2nd Christmas day 2011. So I decided to make some less happy Christmas nails for Christmas. I've been making happy nails for a couple of weeks already and I really wanted to make these now for my mommy, cause I don't feel happy at all. And as you know I love doing my nails for special things/themes/occasions. And I really like making sort of landscape/scenery nails too.
I did a black, gray, white gradient for my zebra fashion nails and I really like that, so I decided to do it again but then the other way around, so black tips instead of black at the cuticles. It gives the whole scene a bit of dramatic, sad feeling, but to make a little more sparkly for Christmas I added a holographic topcoat.
Base a gradient of Essence 50's girls reloaded 01 Ahoy, Catrice 01 Pebbles Beach and Beauty UK Midnight Minx black. Added a layer of Chine Glaze Wireless holographic topcoat. All the snowflakes (bigger and little) are from HB23 stamped with Konad SN white. The rest is stamped with Konad SN black.

Pinkie: trees from Nailways Snowwhite Christmas A-NW00002 plate.
Ring finger: cross from Konad S2, tree from HB33, cute snow bunny from HB38.
Middle finger: big tree HB012, small tree HB33.
Index: snowman from BM318 (I gave him a sad face), tree HB33.
Thumb: the sort of tombstone is actually the slot machine from Konad M48 that I colored in and painted a little cross on top, tree is from HB33 and the word mom and 2011 are made with the numbers and letters on the side of Konad M20 and M11.
Here another picture.

And some swatches of the gradient base.
I like this gradient.

And also a picture of Danbo in my mommy's memorial corner.
With the funeral thank you card (where she is watching the endless sunset in Greece), my little urn with Greek signs, her picture and the funeral card we designed our selves (she took this picture herself on Santorini).

Hope you all have a great Christmas.

The dark days before Christmas!

Hi Everyone,

Today I'll show you something I made last year in me blogging break. It were the dark days before Christmas....not knowing Christmas it self would be even darker and my mom would actually die on 2nd Christmas day :( I know most of you know she died last year and I really find it difficult to handle especially these days and that Christmas is coming closer. So I'll just distract my self with blogging, doing my nails more often ;) and entering challenges/contest for the fun :)

But for today a creation from last year :)

Base Color Club Totaly Mystery. Sponged with Konad SN white. The little houses and trees are stamped with HB33 and the tiny snowflakes come from HB23, all stamped with Konad SN white.

Here some swatches of this beautiful blue base, I got it from a friend.

Although I don't really feel like celebrating Christmas, we did buy 2 Christmas trees today, one for us and one for at my parents place. My mom really loved Christmas, so I do want to decorate our houses. I always love the lights and stuff. And maybe she is a Christmas angel watching down and she would like to see our houses decorated :)

Thanks for reading.

It's a snowy day!

Hi Everyone,

I made these nails last week, before I I made them a bit shorter ;) I realy love making themed nails. They predicted snow this weekend so I decided to make an ice cold winter snowy day on my nails.

Base Essence 50's girls reloaded 01 Ahoy with a gradient of Essence You Rock 05 Speed of light blue, China Glaze Towel Boy Toy and China Glaze Splish Splash. Topcoat Catrice C06 Godfather of pearl for the blue shimmer/glitter. Stamped with XL O (it's a dupe from XL K), Nailways' own Christmas plate (snowwhite collection) A-NW00002, BM318, BM319, HB012, HB23, M11 and M12. Stamped with Konad SN white and Nfu Oh 65 (light blue holo).

Different light.

And some pictures of the gradient base. I really liked this gradient :)

I really like blue :)

This weekend I went to Germany to a Christmas Fair with my sis and my boyfriend. I got some nice cheap polishes for Christmas already :) 3 Flormars and one holo from Kiko...I was soo happy loveee holo.

It was already nine o'clock in the evening. But the shops and the market were open until 10.

Me and my sis at the Christmas fair/market or how you call it ;)

Here you see a crazy pic of me at the Christmas fair with my Chococat nails. It was snowing really hard, it was wet snow but did stayed on my hair and sleeve.

If you look closely you see the snow falling. It was sooo cold and we were soaked, so went inside the shopping mall again for some hot choco ;)

I got this cute warm microwave stuffed animal from boyfriend. If you put it in the microwave it becomes really warm...perfect for cold days. They had many kinds but I loved the black sheep...I sometimes also feel like a black sheep ;)

Me and my black sheep after the long cold snowy Christmas market shopping day.

Christmas nails 2011: Forever Friends Reindeer

Hi Everyone,

As I told you I still have some Christmas nails to show you from last year while I had a blogging break because of my mom's disease. I also have some more from before I started blogging. So in between my new mani's I'll will show all of these too.

I made these in December last year.

Base China Glaze Touch of Glamour. Stamped with Konad SN red and imageplate M59 (big snowflakes) and HB23 smaller red snowflakes. The golden snowflakes are stamped with China Glaze 2030 and Konad M11. The Forever Friends Reindeer are self made water decals. Later added a layer of China Glaze Wireless holographic topcoat, the flash and light made the effect stronger then it really was. In real life you only saw some glitter sometimes.

 With different light.

Without the holo topcoat, you see the decals better. But like I said in real life the decals were very clear with the topcoat too, it was the flash and light that made it soo holo ;)

Some swatches of China Glaze Touch of Glamour.

I know it is not even December yet, but I have some more Christmas nails to show you, so that is why I already start with it now ;)

Thanks for reading.

Snowy owl at dusk

Hi Everyone :)

Let's start by saying a really miss my camera :( Hope to have a good new one for nail pics soon.

A few weeks ago I got an email from Nail Polish Canada, they invited me to enter their 3 weeks holiday themed challenge. I always love taking part in a challenge or contest...love that kind of fun and distraction (this upcoming month even more you'll know why :( ). I also felt really honored that they invited me :) especially when I saw all the names of the amazing bloggers that also take part :) But I really love to join. This first week the theme is SNOW, so that means anything snow related.

I really love stamping and also like to combine that with some self made decals, so I decided to make Snowy owl at dusk nails :) Too bad the camera made the black a bit blue.

A white, grey, black tip gradient with P2 Ship Ahoi! 010 Pure white, Catrice C01 Pebble Beach and P2 Eternal. And Catrice C08 Have an icy day on top for the holo glitter. Stamped the big snow flakes /ice crystals with XL plate O (it's a dupe from XL plate K) the small snowflakes are from HB 23. Stamped with Konad SN white and SN black The Snowy owls on the branches are self made water decals.

Here a pic made with my boyfriends phone.
It is moreblue with that camera.

Another one from my hand (with the camera that was from my mom).

Also some pictures of the gradient tips with holo glitter topcoat.

A bit blurry so you can see the glitter.

You can still enter this challenge. And if you want to do that or see all the beautiful SNOW entries click HERE. You can also vote for your favorite entry there until November 28 :)

I am curious what the theme for next week will be :)

Thanks for reading and enjoy your weekend!

Blue and silver holographic Penguin nails

I had this on my nails two weeks ago, I really really liked this so it stayed longer than a week on my nails. I didn't wanted to remove it but it was Carnival (see previous blog) and these nails didn't matched with my outfit ;) I especially liked the two colored holo base and found the penguins sooo cute ;)  I have a lot of photo's to show you, because it was difficult to take a good photo.

Base the first half China Glaze Sexagon and the other half China Glaze Kaleidoscope Him Out. Self made decals of some really cute penguins. Snowflakes stamped with Konad SN white and SN pastel blue imageplate HB23. Photo without flash under artificial light.

Photo with flash.

Photo without flash under artificial light.

Photo wtih flash different settings.

Some strange settings but here you can see that the penguins have cute gray bellies.

Only the base with decals without the stamping.

Ofcourse I also have some swatches of the base that I really love ♥ and I'm definitely going do something similar with different colors some day ;)

With flash.

Without flash or light, the colors are a bit strange but you can see the gradient effect better.

With flash.

Without flash or artificial light a bit blurry, but the main thing is you can see the gradient effect.

Have a nice weekend ♥
