Valentines Day 2016: Love Letters

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for not blogging for a while, lots have been going on. But I have been doing my nails ofcourse :) maybe not as much as before. I have a lot to catch up but I'll start with my most recent mani. Will post my older ones later too.

I did these for a Valentines contest on IG and the theme was Love Letters. With on my ring finger a love letter and on the rest of my nails birds delivering the letters, roses and hearts.

Base Sixteen matte 646 did a saran wrap with Konad white MdU 25 and 55. And on my ringfinger I used a little grey too Catrice C01 Pebble Beach. Stamped with Catrice Rock-O-Co C01 L'Ombre A Sanssouci, BPS black, MdU 55, 8, 32 and Konad white. Plates MoYou London Scholar 02 (writing and feathered pen), Suki 03 (the letters and small hearts), Mother Nature 01 (hearts and birds) and Mother Nature 05 (roses, leaves, branches, birds and fountain).

I later made it matte with China Glaze Magic matte.

I think I liked it better matte what do you think?

Thanks for reading.

Sugar Skulls

Hi Everyone,

One of the themes for the challenge was Death and it made me think of Day of the Dead. I know this is different then Halloween but I just wanted to do the colorful Sugar Skulls. I know today is actually Day of the Dead so I thought lets share it here today.

Sinful Colors Snow me White for the middle and ring finger. Used Konad SN black and BM413 for the skulls and made stamping decals of them coloring them with China Glaze Pool Party and Color Club Puccilicious and gave them neon orange stud eyes. Pinkie and index I did a saranwrap base with China Glaze Pool Party, China Glaze Sunworshiper and Color Club Puccilicious stamped with Konad SN white and BM321 the flowers and added some neon dots.

I did not really liked this mani, somehow it wasn't what I had in mind.

Thanks for reading!

*Lest We Forget* ANZAC Remembrance Day nails

Hi Everyone,

The Saturday challenge from Nail Update is ANZAC or Penguin nails. I am blogging about this already because tonight and tomorrow we celebrate Kingsday here in Holland. Formerly known as Queensday or Q-day but since we now have a King it will be Kingsday. Anyway that means I won't have much time to go on a computer. So I am sharing my challange mani earlier.

I chose to do ANZAC nails and today it is ANZAC day so it isn't even that bad that I blog about these now ;) When I was googling to find out what ANZAC day meant I saw this pretty picture of a poem. And that became my inspiration. Will post that picture too.

I am really proud of how thes turned out, I even did freehand and I don't do freehand much haha. Cause I am not good at it. Even my boyfriend liked these nails.

Base Saran wrap with Catrice C01 Pebble Beach, Konad SN white and Konad SN black. Used Konad M36 and M36-I for the SN green leaves, flower buds etc. With Konad SN black I stamped the big cross from Konad S3, the words "Lest We Forget' are from the tittles of Nailways plates. The little cross is part of FUN5. The soldier is the man from the dancing love couple on Messy Mansion MM03 and freehanded him an arm, hand, hat/helmet, rifle/gun. And freehanded the poppies with Konad SN red, SN black and a little SN yellow.

My nails together with my inspiration
Here a link to the poem picture

And some pictures of just the saran wrap base.

I also really liked this base.

For all my Australian and New Zealand readers, have a good ANZAC day!

For all my Dutch readers Happy Kings night/day!

And for the rest...I wish you a wonderful weekend :)

Thanks for reading.

Romance in the garden ♥

Hi Everyone,

I finally did my nails again after 2 weeks...yaay...I missed it lol. And I missed being online on facebook and watching blogs too. Still busy but at least I now have nail time again :) In my absence I missed all kinds of invitations for challenges/contest one of them was an invitation from Nail Polish Canada if I would like to enter their Valentine's Day nail art challenge :) Of course I always love a fun challenge...and I almost missed it when I was so busy. But luckily I had some time yesterday to make a new Valentine's Day mani :)

I chose a Romance in the Garden theme :) Many women (or maybe men too) are careful with giving their hearts so that is why I made the caged heart ;) but the birds in the garden are helping to convince her this guy is a good one ;) And are trying to reach the caged heart and bringing flowers and hearts to the love couple in the rose garden.

Base P2 014 Heartbeat, saran wrapped with Konad SN white. Stamped using Konad SN black, Konad SN magenta and Konad PSN cool red. And I used all kinds of little parts that I stamped seperately to make my own images from Moyou Mother Nature (aka Landscape) 01, 04 and 05.

Here a picture of just the saran wrap base.

Some swatches of the base color P2 014 Heartbeat.

If you like my mani then please vote here by chosing my blog link in the menu. You can also see all the other pretty entries.

I am so happy to be able to do my nails again :)

Thanks for reading and have a lovely weekend!

Something really quick and some ideas :)

Hi everyone,

I've been really sick 2 weeks ago, and last week I went on a short holiday to Center Parcs in Belgium. I was so sick that I was afraid I would not be able to go, but luckily that turned out okay. So sorry for not blogging for a a while.

Here is something I did 2 weeks ago when I had a little workshop again :) Some girls wanted to learn new things, so I showed them all the new things I've learned from fellow stamping/ nail addicts :)

Thumb: a gradient with a make up sponge. And 2 times stamping, first in pastel green then colored the image with that same color and stamped the same image again in metallic pink. With Nailways Spring Time -Easter Bunny A-NW00006 plate ;)

Index: using striping tape, sponging over it with a more coarse Konad sponge and removing the tape again and a Konad flower..

Middle vinger: a baby chicken ;) using flocking powder (but when I took the pic half of it was gone because it was done really quick with too little topcoat underneath) The face made with a dotting tool, the hair is stamped (part of the Konad pineapple image)

Ring finger: saran wrap technique with 2 colors.

Pinkie: a stamping decal Konad M1, coloring him on the stamper, then a layer of topcoat and peel it off. And put it on the nail, I smudged it a bit. But like I said it was done really quick just to show those girls how it was done :) On Messy Mansion is a great tutorial of stamping decals :)

I had so much fun that day, later I took most of it off and did saran wrap on all of them to cover the bald spots…had do it sooo fast cause had to go, but I thought can’t go out with these 5 different nails :P

The Saran wrap with China Glaze Lemon Fizz and a brght pink color from 2True. And a Kleancolor metallic black stamp from Konad M22.

The Saran wrap base.

Both together.

Last week I had skittle Easter nails and toes, I will show those tomorrow.

Have a nice weekend!

Fashion Inspired: Christmas dress...FAIL ;)

Hello Hello,
I made these nails last friday. I had so much fun making my Zebra Black and White gradient nails for Wacky Laki's Inspired by Fashion contest that I wanted to do another one again. But I was happy that I've sent in the zebra one and not this one, because this really was a fail. You can see all the amazing entries and vote for your favorite by clicking here. If you like mine I am entry number 7 :)

Now back to my fail Fashion inspired Christmas dress nails ;) You know I told you I really like Danbo the cardboard box guy? Well Danbo helped me with these nails...lol see the pictures below. I can blame him for the fail :P haha.
Base Golden Rose Paris Magic 308 (a gorgeous shimmer red that is hard to photograph) Saran wrapped with China Glaze Snow. Stamped with Konad SN white and M9 and the bow from the candy cane on M12 in SN red.

I really did not liked how the saran wrapped nails turned out...you can still see where my inspiration is coming from, but I removed these nails the same night..lol. I did not wanted to spent my Saturday with these nails ;)
A picture of the Christmas dress.
And my nails again.
Of course some swatches of the red base...that was really hard to capture. You still see a bit of visable nail line. But it really is a pretty red.
Here the cute pictures of Danbo helping me with the Saran wrap..lol.

Thanks for reading :)

And don't forget to vote for your favorite Fashion Inspired nails on Wacky Laki. If you like mine then vote number 7 :)

Newspaper love nails

Hi everyone :)

I wanted to try the Saran wrap technique again :) but this time with less contrasting colors. So I used 2 shades of shimmer grey. I wanted to make it look like an old newspaper or something similair. So I could finally use this cool BM plate full nail design. Have been seeing lots of great manis with this, so I really wanted to use it too :)

Base is Impala - pier (a pearly grey shimmer) saran wrap with P2 sun love LE 040 summer rain (a more brownish grey shimmer). Stamped with Konad SN black and BM311.

When you use this stamp and it goes a bit wrong or not everything transfers on your nails is reeally doesn't matter, it makes it look more like an old newspaper ;)

Here a photo of the Saran Wrap base.

And also some swatches of this pretty grey from Brazil: Impala - pier.

Have a lovely day ;)

My first try at Saran wrap nails

The challenge for this sunday was to make something based on something you've learned in the AIS group. For me that was the Saran wrap nails. I never heard of that before and saw it for the first time there :) So I was like I have to try that for the challenge :)

Since it was in the stamping group I had to stamp on it too, I wanted to do a full nail but then I thought you couldn't see the base that well anymore. So I decided to do a small stamp. I already had this base polish on but could remove the stamps easily so I could add a yellow coat for the Saran wrap nails. I am not sure if I like this combination but I thought the contrasting colors will show the effect good. And it was also a nice color combo for the Summer.

For those of you who don't know this technique...it is not that hard. Just paint your nails a color and let that dry really well, then choose another color (prefer one that isn't too sheer) and paint one coat over the base color, grap a piece of Saran wrap /plastic foil (in Dutch plastic vershoud folie) and dab/pat with it on your nails, and repeat these steps for each nail, let it dry and add a topcoat :)

Base Color Club Raspberry Rush and a coat of a mini yellow polish from ETOS (no name), stamped with Konad SN black and imageplate XL F, added some yellow dots in the flowers with a dotting tool and SN yellow.

Here a pic of just the base.
What do you think of this technique? I really like it (not sure about this combo though) but would love to do it again under a full nail stamp or with less contrasting colors.

Have a nice sunday!
