Queens Day (Q-day) 2013

Hello Everyone :)

Tonight we celebrate Queens-night and tomorrow will be our last Queens-day. Our queen Beatrix is passing the throne to her son Willem Alexander. So next year we will be celebrating Kings Day...that sounds weird LOL. The night before Queens-day is always one big party night in a lot of cities here in Holland. With music on the streets and beer/ or soda for those who don't drink ;) everything is orange (that is our national color) and red, white and blue (the colors of our flag). There are also flea markets and many more festivities, but I always like the music (live bands and DJ's). So me and my friends are going to party tonight ;) So of course I've made Q-day nails again. Base Impala (matte fluors) Tech, a really bright neon orange. Stamped music lines/ notes in the colors of our flag using SN red, SN white and SN blue Konad M22 and crowns from Konad M40 stamped with Kleancolor metallic black. Also added some orange rhinestones on the crowns.

The base color is really hard to capture so I took a lot of pictures with different lighting.

Saturday my sister and I went shopping (did not bought anything but okay) and we called it "sisters day" we always have sooo much fun on days like these. And we spotted the special Dutch Queens/King train. It was the train we had to take too, so that was really funny. When you took a picture of yourself and the train and uploaded it you could win some prizes. They call it the B to A train. Normally they have this motto that they (the train company) will bring you daily from place A to place B. But now they said we will also bring B to A that means the throne change from our queen Beatrix (the B) to our king to be (Willem) Alexander (the A).

Bright neon gradient music nails

Hi Everyone,

Remember my previous post that I said those black and white nails were a fail to me? I just wasn't feeling them, they made me depressed, not happy, so I really needed something bright. So I went for a neon gradient :) not very rocky for music band night but I so needed happy nails.

White base from P2 and on top a gradient with China Glaze Beach Cruise-r, Hang Ten-Toes, Towel Boy Toy, I'm With The Lifeguard and Sun-Kissed. On top a layer of China Glaze Wireless Holographic topcoat. Stamped with Konad SN black using Cheeky CH31 and the headphone is from one of the newest Essence plates and I made a stamping decal (see Messy Mansion's tutorial ) of it coloring it with white and silver.

I also had a birthday that weekend of one of my friends who turned 30 so later I added little 30 numbers on my index finger next to the headphones. I only have a cellphone picture of that and it all is a bit blue. It was fun teasing him, cause he did not like turning 30 years old ;)

It's a snowy day!

I made these nails last week, before I I made them a bit shorter ;) I realy love making themed nails. They predicted snow this weekend so I decided to make an ice cold winter snowy day on my nails.

 

Base Essence 50's girls reloaded 01 Ahoy with a gradient of Essence You Rock 05 Speed of light blue, China Glaze Towel Boy Toy and China Glaze Splish Splash. Topcoat Catrice C06 Godfather of pearl for the blue shimmer/glitter. Stamped with XL O (it's a dupe from XL K), Nailways' own Christmas plate (snowwhite collection) A-NW00002, BM318, BM319, HB012, HB23, M11 and M12. Stamped with Konad SN white and Nfu Oh 65 (light blue holo).

This weekend I went to Germany to a Christmas Fair with my sis and my boyfriend. I got some nice cheap polishes for Christmas already :) 3 Flormars and one holo from Kiko...I was soo happy loveee holo.

 

It was already nine o'clock in the evening. But the shops and the market were open until 10.

Here you see a crazy pic of me at the Christmas fair with my Chococat nails. It was snowing really hard, it was wet snow but did stayed on my hair and sleeve.

 

If you look closely you see the snow falling. It was sooo cold and we were soaked, so went inside the shopping mall again for some hot choco ;)

 

I got this cute warm microwave stuffed animal from boyfriend. If you put it in the microwave it becomes really warm...perfect for cold days. They had many kinds but I loved the black sheep...I sometimes also feel like a black sheep ;)

Greece 2012: I am back from Zakynthos

Hi my lovely readers,

 

The last couple of weeks I've been showing you only older manis, that was because I planned those blog posts before I went on vacation with my dad and boyfriend. As many of you know I love Greece, my boyfriend and I visit another island every year. This year my dad went with us because he wanted to go on holiday too, his first time after my moms death.. it was really hard. Zakynthos wasn't one of the prettiest islands I've seen, but did really loved the boot trips we did. The prettiest things were on the outside of the island like some beaches and a lot of caves.

Zakynthos is "famous" for the Caretta Caretta turtle who swims in the bay of Laganas and lays eggs on the beaches there. So all my manis had something with turtles on it. I will show them to you the next couple of weeks. I also always try to take some holiday nail pictures, so I have a lot of pictures I had this on my nails more then a week so some pics you see a bit of tipwear ;)

 

Let's start with a nice sunset behind the mountains.

 

Here the picture I took before I left.

It's a gradient base with white from P2 and China Glaze Towel Boy Toy, China Glaze Splish Splash and a blue shimmer from a very old LE from Catrice over all of it. Self made water decals of the shape of the island with the Greek flag on it, the word Zakynthos and Caretta Caretta turtles. Stamped the Greek Meandros sign with Konad SN White and image plate S6.

 On the beach we often went to. You could only lie a few meters from the ocean because in the soft sand there we Caretta Caretta turtles nests who still needed to hatch.

I also saw some starfish while I was snorkeling, ofcourse after taking a picture I brought them back in the ocean where I found them :)

Me holding "turtle island" it is called this way because it is shaped a bit as a turtle. And also the Caretta Caretta turtles nest on the beach on that island.

Sunset Sailing with some Seagulls :)

Hey hey,

I made these a few months ago at the end of May and just haven't posted them yet...no reason why. But here they are and it is still Summer (when I made these it wasn't Summer but we had Summer weather for a few days). This was actually my second sponged neon gradient (with all the colors at a sponge at once).

Base a gradient of China Glaze Yellow Polka Dot Bikini, China Glaze Sunworshiper and Impala Tech sponged over a white base. Added China Glaze Wireless Holographic topcoat on top. Stamped with Konad SN black and imageplates H18 and H20.

Impala SPFW na mira 3D with simple nail art.

I loveeee this polish sooo much woohoo. And I miss my Brazilian friend :( She lived in Holland for 2 years for her job and was the girlfriend of my best friend, but they broke up. Now she is living in Brazil again. Before she sometimes went back to Brazil to visit her family or on holiday together with my best friend and then they brought me lots of nail polish goodies. This is one of the polishes I got a while ago but never used it (maybe because I like it so much and it isn't a big bottle).

I just added a small stamp because I did not want cover up this gorgeous polish entirely.

Base Impala SPFW na mira 3D, stamped with BM311 and Konad SN white. Added neon dots  in the flowers with a dotting tool with China Glaze I Am With The Lifeguard, Sunworshiper, Under the Boardwalk.
