Pink & Hearts: Beste Twin Nails with The Beauty Of Nail Polish

Hi Everyone,

Earlier this week Tara from The Beauty Of Nail Polish contacted me if I wanted to do #bestietwinnails with her. I was really honored she wanted me do that with her :) I have never done bestie twin nails. Ofcoure I did do the story nails with Fab Ur Nails and others, but no bestie twin nails. So I was double excited...my first twin mani and with a very talented nail artist.

We talked on facebook and decided to do something loved themed since it will be Valentine's Day next month. She suggested we both should do a pink mani with hearts, no specific plates or polishes just this theme. And the rest was up to us how to interpret this theme.

You can follow her on Facebook too here a link to her page. And she is also on Instagram @thebeautyofnailpolish and as you know I recently joined the IG world too @dianavnisselroy if you like to follow me too ;)

Now let's show both our mani's.

I love how we both used different kind of pink tones. It is so fun to see how we both interpreted this theme. And I seriously love her mani, especially her ring finger is mesmerizing.

Now also a closer look to my mani with all the details.

I sponged my base using Konad SN pastel pink (I really wanted the base color to be the same as the stamped images so it would blend well) and Only You 015 Pink Party! (that brand is from a local drugstore called ICI Paris XL) On top I used Essence 25 Let Stars Rain Down On Me a holo glitter topcoat (a bit similar to INM out the door silver). Stamped the hearts with the french tip image from Konad M73 with Konad SN pastel pink. The bigger and small hearts are from Nailways Spring Time - Love is in the Air stamped with Konad SN magenta.

I liked how this turned out with the gradient and the french tip design and tone on tone :)

Here also a picture from the gradient base. Too bad you can't really see the holo sparkle that good.

If you like to know the details on Tara her mani go over to her blog: The Beauty Of Nail Polish.

Thank you for doing this fun Bestie Twin Nails with me, I look foward to doing more in the future.

Thanks for reading!

Have a nice weekend :)

Romantic Summer Beach Scenery

Hi Everyone,

Here my mani and pedi I did before the weekend. I wanted to do another summer beach scenery. I always love doing that and especially with bright neon colors.

Base a gradient sponged over white using China Glaze Towel Boy Toy, China Glaze That's Shore Bright, China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy and China Glaze Sun Worshiper. And added a subtle spectraflair topcoat on top for the holo sparkle.  Palm trees are from Nailways Vive la Vie- Beach baby, little dolphin, waves, boat, lighthouse from Moyou Sailor 01, big dolphin and birds from Stampaholics ST01, part of plam tree leaf from H10, love couple from Messy Mansion MM03. And a little freehand.

And ofcourse a matching pedi.
Toes no white base just sponged without the orange color and on the rest of my toes only Flip Flop fantasy. The love couple is made with parts from Moyou Mother Nature 01.

And here my other foot.

And a picture of the gradient base.

I was really happy with this mani and still have it on my nails :)

Under the Sea 2014

Hi Everyone,

The weather here is very warm, so for this weekend I had to do a fun Summer mani. I did a Under the Sea themed mani again :) (I do at least one under the sea mani once a year). I went to the beach saturday and my Under the Sea hands and feet had fun swimming in the ocean :)

Subtle gradient base with China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise, China Glaze Towel Boy Toy and China Glaze Splish Splash (over Sinful Colors Snow me white).

All stamped with Moyou Sailor 01 and Sailor 08.Stamped some seaweed, plants, coral. First stamped the pearl shell in white then colored it white and stamped over it with black and added a pearl rhinestone in the middle. Stamped the jelly fish in black colored it pink and stamped the top again with black. The starfish is stamped in white and over it stamped again with the peachy color. The crab is stamped in white too, but colored that with a little brush and red and dotted some eyes. The pufferfish is stamped in yellow colored it yellow and stamped over it with black. The shell and anker just stamped in white. And at the end stamped some light blue and white bubbles. All done using Konad stamping polishes and some mixes of those.

As you know I love doing matching pedi's (especially in the Summer) so here are my toesies :)
A subtle gradient with China Glaze Towel Boy Toy and China Glaze Splish Splash. Made a stamping decal of the octopus from Moyou Sailor 08 for my big toes. And stamped the same bubbles on the rest of my toes.

Thought some might also like to see my other hand. I always try to make it match but taking a normal pic from that hand is hard :P

And a picture of both hand and foot together.

World Turtle Day....hatching turtle eggs

 Hi Everyone,

Today is World Turtle Day :) I did not even knew there was such a thing, but now I do. Thanks to Nailpolis. They have a World Turtle Day challenge there (so many super cute and beautiful mani's). As some of you may remember about 1,5 years ago I went to Zakynthos on holiday. Zakynthos is a Greek island well known for the "Caretta Caretta" turtle (also known for partying but that was the reason I was there haha) There are many hatching beaches there. During our vacation we learned a lot more about these turtles and even got to see them swimming in the ocean. You can see all the turtle manis and my holiday pics in previous blogposts (search Greece + turtle). I still haven't blogged about one of the 3 turtle mani's I did back then (told you still soo many mani's to show LOL) I did share all my previous turtle manis in the Nailpolis challenge, but ofcourse I also wanted to do a new turtle mani.

I think turtles are amazing animals. So I did a mani with little baby turtles hatching from their eggs finding their way into the big blue ocean. One little guy already made it (middle finger) and is under water :) From all the eggs that actually hatch only a few make it into the ocean. And even if they make it, their chances of survival aren't that big either. Poor little baby turtles.

I've been wanting to do this mani ever since I got my Stampaholics ST01 plate..now almost a year later I finally did it for this challenge :)

I used a nude with golden shimmer from Catrice (very old can't see the name anymore) for the beach. Sponged with Konad pastel blue over it and white in between the water and the sand. Sponged over the pastel blue with a shimmery blue from Catrice C02 Never green before to give it more of a water effect with the shimmer and some places a little darker.

Used Konad SN white to stamp the broken/ hatching eggs made with parts of Nailways Spring Time Easter Bunny plate A-NW00006. The shells in the water and on the beach are from HB46 (colored over them with Kleancolor Metallic white for the shimmer pearly shell effect. And ofcourse the dark green (Konad black mixed with moss green) cute little baby turtles are from Stampaholics ST01 plate <3  I freehanded the little starfishes with a self made coral stamping polish :)

I was a little inspired by my nail friend Aasta her beach mani she gave me the idea to sponge white between the ocean and the sand.

I took some more pictures in different light.

I know not everbody likes these sceneries on their nails, but I do and I just enjoy making them.

ST01 is also still one of my favorite plates, if I am correct she will be expecting new stock and her fourth ST04 plate next month.

Happy World Turtle Day and have a nice weekend.

Thanks for reading :)

What a girl wants...

Hi Everyone,

Today a colorful mani with all kinds of stuff a girl wants or likes ;) Or so people say :) Cosmetica, perfume, nail polish, fashion/shoes, jewelry/diamonds, love and sweets (macarons). Born Pretty Store is having a contest on their blog and the rules were to use specific products of them that were listed. It is a pretty long list so enough options to choose from. One of these products were these water decals. So I made a mani with them. The decals have so many pastel colors so I wanted to do a base with those colors too. And some holo glitter and stamping. I always love to combine things in this case: painting, stamping, glitter, sponging and using water decals.

Base China Glaze Lemon Fizz. Stamped a full nail with M57 and Konad SN white. And sponged colorful tips over that. I made a sideways sort of gradient using Konad SN pastel green, a self made pastel orange mix, SN pastel blue, SN pastel violet, SN pastel pink. Added a layer of Catrice Million Styles C08 Have an Icy Day (a holo glitter topcoat) And used the Born Pretty Store water decals with all the girly stuff.

And a picture before the decals so you can see the stamping better.

And also before I added the topcoat.

And some more pictures of this mani in different light. It was hard to capture all the colors and the glitter and stamping.

All these colors remind me of Spring and also Easter but then instead of the girly stuff it had to be Easter eggs ;) I do love all these girly things but never ate a macaron in my life...do want too try them they always look yummy :)

I believe the entries will be on the Born Pretty blog in a few days.

They also have some great new nail art wheels.
You can see them here. I really like the candy colored one. If you want to buy them, don't forget to use the coupon code BPSL91 to get a 10% discount!

Olympics Sochi 2014

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to make a Olympic mani to support my country :) Ofcourse I had to use orange (our national color) and our Dutch flag and since the Dutchies are very good at speed ice skating I had to do something with ice skates but since I don't own any of those images I had to improvise LOL (see details below).

Base Barry M multiglitter 333 and a sponged accent nail in the Olympic colors (Konad SN blue, SN yellow, SN green and SN red). Konad SN white sponged tips and sponged over that with Konad PSN psyche orange.  Stamped the Sochi Olympic logo from MJ XXIV tester plate in Konad SN black. Stamped the rest with Konad SN white. Made the medal with the part of the pink ribbon image on FUN1 and Cheeky CH48 using Essence A Piece of Forever. For the ice skating guy I used part of an image on MJ XXIV tester plate and gave him skates using a dotting tool and part of the helicopter image on FUN1. I also did not had a big ice skate so I used the roller skate on MJ XXV removed the wheels and again used a dotting tool and stamped part of the helicopter from FUN1 to make it look like an ice skate haha :)The cheering guy is from MJ XXIV tester plate too. Made the Dutch flag with stripes from FUN7 stamping them all seperately using Konad SN red, SN white and SN blue.

I find it fun to look at the plates I do have trying to think of what I can use to make a certain image...always very challenging. The result ain't perfect but it was still fun to do :)

Our small country already won 12 medals with ice skating.

When witches go riding...ST02 plate :)

Hi Everyone,

Today I'll show you my last mani made with  StampAholics ST02 plate. I've used all the images on that plate the last few weeks :) This time I chose not really Halloweeny colors but some bright neons for the base.

"When witches go riding,
and black cats are seen,
the moon laughs and whispers
'tis near Halloween"

I also did a matching pedi with this one (cause just had to use the final image I had not used yet)

First both my hands so you can read the words :)

A white base and sponged with China Glaze - Sun-Kissed, China Glaze - Orange you Hot?, China Glaze - Surfin' For Boys and Digital Color Cream Make Me Up - F20. Added INM Nothern Lights silver topcoat. Stamped with Konad SN black and Stampaholics ST02 plate. I mirror stamped the image on my thumb (from stamper to stamper and then om my thumb)

And a matching pedi :)
Also mirror stamped my big toes.

Close up from my left hand and foot.

Just my left hand.

Both hands.

Close up from my right hand and foot.

And just my right hand (that often just don't want to photograph well, but this day he was pretty nice and worked well :P )

Again both hands.

For those who haven't seen my other ST02 mani's here they are again. So everything is all together in one post. You can click the title to go to the original post.

A witching time at night when everything might bite

Hi everyone,

Today I'll show you my Bundlemonster contest entry :) I've made 2 weeks ago and I could not choose which one I wanted to enter in the contest, this one or the The trees get eyes when the moon begins to rise so I posted it in a nail group and the lovely members helped me choose by voting on which one they liked best. And this mani had more votes :)

You can see all the entries of this Halloween contest here. You can vote on all the entries you like and you can vote every day till October 23rd. If you like mine I am on page 10 ;) They are in the order of how they were submitted (I believe) so on page 11 the first entries and page 1 the last entries.

You also had to give it a title so I called them "A witching time at night when everything might bite".   During Halloween everything might be haunted and can get freaky even the cutest things like a bunny. So I made a Halloween scenery where everything is freaky and haunted even a cute bunny that is now "evil".

Sponged the base with 4 Konad stamping polishes SN pastel blue, SN sky pearl, SN blue and SN royal purple, painted the sky (with different colored brush strokes)  the moon, tree trunks and the little cross. Stamped with BM04 (cat), parts of BM12 (leaves, branches), BM13 (cross, bats, witch), BM20 (stars), BM302 (devil bunny haha) and BM305 (pumpkins, house and the part of the devil to make the bunny evil) colored some images and dotted yellow eyes.

I only have the first and 3rd BM set so I had to get creative with the images :)

Here is the direct link to my entry A witching time at night when everything might bite  but you can always look mine up on page 10 :) Remember to vote for all you like (I am also voting for my fellow nail friends who entered) and you can vote every day.
If you are on a phone and it doesn't work try this:  http://www.bundlemonster.com/cirquedufreakcontestentry I am on page 10.
Thank you so much for reading (and maybe voting too) :)

I see a ghost :)

Hi Everyone,

Today another Halloweenish mani, the challenge today in AIS was to stamp over a black base. So that was something I liked to do. And I was just testing out some selfmade water decals that were big....not much a success since I could not get the decal flat on my nails. That is often that way with big self made decals cause a decal is flat and my nails are very curvy...it's like wrapping a ball with paper haha. That is why I usually not make my decals bigger then 1cm. My ghost now has a wrinkle on his head but it kinda makes it extra spooky ;)

Black sponged base, added a self made water decal of a ghost on my ring finger (first sponged with white underneath it). Sponged over the edges with black again to cover the excess white. Stamped with BM301 (the sort of saran wrap stamp) first stamped it with Konad SN white then again over it with Konad SN black.

Another pic with different light.

Have a nice Sunday!

The trees get eyes when the moon begins to rise!

Hi Everyone,

Today I'll show my first Halloween nails of this year. I love Halloween even though it isn't really celebrated here. I've made these last week together with another Halloween mani, and I could not choose which one to enter in the Halloween contest, so I asked members of a FB group they chose the other one (will show them later this week or next week).

"The trees get eyes when the moon begins to rise"
Sponged base (Konad pastel orange yellow, dark orange, cool red and added some brush strokes to get a sky effect and a little foggy around the trees) colored the moon, drew the tree trunks and stamped the branches and leaves with parts of BM12 with Konad SN black and added some yellow dots as eyes. The Jack O on the moon is from BM305. I was a little proud of myself that I drew the tree trunks and moon haha cause I hardly freehand stuff (I know it were just lines but still, lines are hard for me too :P )
Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Awareness

Hi Everyone,

October is breast cancer awareness month, and I saw that today a lot of people were doing a pink mani to honor that and bring more attention to breast cancer. My grandma had breast cancer so I really wanted to join today with all the awareness mani's, I think it's important. I know there is an inlink code or something but I have no idea how that works. So today a short post with my pink ribbon nails.

Sponged with Konad SN white, SN pastel pink, SN Magenta. Stamped with Sally Hansen 220 Flashy Fuchsia and BM321 and BM324 and added a neon pink stud. I had my neon studs for a long time now but never used them so I thought I add one. In real life you see it brighter and better.

Edit: loooook Nail art of the week.
So cool and I love Dimpal her textured mani a lot and with the pink stud it feels like we are nail sisters haha (hers look better tho on the white ;))

Have a nice weekend!

Thanks for reading and remember to check your breasts.

Black and White Music nails...a bit of a fail

Hi Everyone,

This weekend I had a birthday party of one of my friends who turned 30 :) And it were the finals of our local open (rock)band night in the city I live. So I wanted to do something music themed. Cause I love watching live music. But somehow I did not liked these nails, and removed them the same evening and made something colorful instead (will show those later this week). I don't know why I think they were a fail to me, I just wasn't feeling it. They did not make me happy..lol.

A Konad SN black and SN white mixed sponged base with Spectraflair topcoat. Stamped with Konad M63, Cheeky CH30 and CH31 using SN white and SN black.

And another pic.

I guess they would have been okay for a rocky music band night, but I just did not like them (don't know why). I needed something colorful to cheer me up ;)

Bowling nails

Hi Everyone,

I was sure I already posted these on my blog but I can't find them, so maybe I did not posted them since I was busy with all the V-day mani's last month. But I made these in February. I went bowling with my family and my dad's new girlfriend and her family. So since they already knew me as a crazy nail lady (from stories my dad told them) I thought let's make a mani that is perfect for bowling. I had just received my Cheeky 2012 set that was my prize from the lovely Wacky Laki. I knew there was a bowling image on them. I also got some striping tape recently and really wanted to use that too, so I combined them.

A white base from Essence with Kleancolor metallic white on top, added striping tape and sponged over it with Kleancolor metallic black (and white) and I removed the tape again :) Stamped with Cheeky CH35 and Kleancolor metallic black.

Here a pic of just the tape mani. Since it was my first time using striping tape I wanted to play with it and did each nail differently.
I was really happy with my first striping tape mani.

Bowling was fun too :)

Thanks for reading.
