My sad gray Mommy memorial Christmas nails :(

Hi Everyone,
Today it's been exactly a year that my mom died...it was 2nd Christmas day 2011. So I decided to make some less happy Christmas nails for Christmas. I've been making happy nails for a couple of weeks already and I really wanted to make these now for my mommy, cause I don't feel happy at all. And as you know I love doing my nails for special things/themes/occasions. And I really like making sort of landscape/scenery nails too.
I did a black, gray, white gradient for my zebra fashion nails and I really like that, so I decided to do it again but then the other way around, so black tips instead of black at the cuticles. It gives the whole scene a bit of dramatic, sad feeling, but to make a little more sparkly for Christmas I added a holographic topcoat.
Base a gradient of Essence 50's girls reloaded 01 Ahoy, Catrice 01 Pebbles Beach and Beauty UK Midnight Minx black. Added a layer of Chine Glaze Wireless holographic topcoat. All the snowflakes (bigger and little) are from HB23 stamped with Konad SN white. The rest is stamped with Konad SN black.

Pinkie: trees from Nailways Snowwhite Christmas A-NW00002 plate.
Ring finger: cross from Konad S2, tree from HB33, cute snow bunny from HB38.
Middle finger: big tree HB012, small tree HB33.
Index: snowman from BM318 (I gave him a sad face), tree HB33.
Thumb: the sort of tombstone is actually the slot machine from Konad M48 that I colored in and painted a little cross on top, tree is from HB33 and the word mom and 2011 are made with the numbers and letters on the side of Konad M20 and M11.
Here another picture.

And some swatches of the gradient base.
I like this gradient.

And also a picture of Danbo in my mommy's memorial corner.
With the funeral thank you card (where she is watching the endless sunset in Greece), my little urn with Greek signs, her picture and the funeral card we designed our selves (she took this picture herself on Santorini).

Hope you all have a great Christmas.

My first Fall / Autumn nails of this year

Hello my sweet followers,

As you know I came back from Greece last week and I came back in a really cold Holland. And it was really Fall here. The challenge last sunday on AIS facebook was OMG it's an invasion...now the first thing that came to mind was aliens, but then I thought again and thought it was an invasion of Fall. Because there were leaves everywhere and a big pile on our driveway. So I decided to make my first Fall nails for this year :)

I broke my little pinkie in my last week of my vacation so don't mind that. I actually also am kinda proud of how my nail bed grew the last couple of years when I stopped biting, because it broke off till the flesh so shorter then this isn't possible. And I still really like this length too :)

Base Golden Rose Holographic 114. Stamped with Konad M20, M30 and M31 SN black, SN yellow, SN red, SN gold brown, SN dark orange, SN dark red, PSN apple green, PSN pop green, PSN dark purple all mixed together :)

Some may think a ladybug is more for Spring (that is true too) but you also often see them in Fall when they walk over the leaves to find shelter in the bark of the trees for the Winter time.

Here another picture of this.

And ofcourse some swacthes of this nice holographic base, it is brown but sometimes also a bit purple, don't really know how to describe this color ;)

A few post ago I already told you I don't really like Fall it makes me feel sad, this year also because of that my mom was sooooo sick last Fall. But as you know she died 2nd Christmas day, so don't know if I'll ever really like Christmas again either. But have to make the best of it. I am really a Summer girl and need the sun to be happy a bit, but I have to admit I do love all the Fall colors and the leaves changing colors.

Thanks for reading.

Catrice 420 Dirty Berry swatches (+ nail art)

In Germany I bought this polish it's one of the new colors from Catrice. I really love this one, it's a bit lilac with some sort of holo in it.

First I'll show the nail art photos below are the swatches.

Catrice 420 Dirty Berry, I stamped flowers from Konad M20 with SN white, and 3 colored butterflies from Konad M25 with SN pastel pink, pastel blue and white. Photo with flash.

Photo without flash under artificial light.

Now here the swatch photos you can see the sort of holo effect in it ♥

Close up, so you can see the slightly colored  holo effect.

It's spring and my butterfly decided to fly away to freedom :(

I was having a bad day and then this happend, I was combing my hair and my nail was stuck in it. Then I saw this hugeeeee tear in my nail. It was already up to the middle, so I just took it all off :( Now I have this really sad short nail. Don't know how it teared, my nails almost never tear (it's been more then 2 years since I had something similar).

I've cutted them all now but not as short as my middle finger, that hurts. So you probably see some short nail creation from me, I'll hope I can take photo's of my right hand, otherwise it look so sad one really short nail in the middle (fortunately I have also a lot of older creation to show you when I didn't had a blog yet).

Happy 2011

I wish you all a happy, healthy 2011 with a lot of nail polish and nail art :) Here are as promised my current Happy New Year nails, like I said I've used a dark blue nail polish again.
As a base I'm wearing Sally Hansen - 16 Blue it, I got this color as a present/souvenir from my mom and dad from Fuertaventura (Canary Islands) it just needed one coat. On top I did a coat of CND effects Crimson sparkle. It is really diffucult to get that effect showing in a picture. I stamped the fireworks with BM20 used Konad SN pastel violet, pastel blue, pastel pink, pastel yellow, pastel orange and PSN apple green. Like last year I stamped the text Happy from plate M43 using different pastel stamping polishes. Used the numbers from the sides of plate M20 and M11. For my thumb I used M46 and the numbers from the big demo plate.

I had a hard time taking a good picture.

Here a swatch of Sally Hansen - 16 Blue it.
One coat (don't mind my ringfinger I damaged it a bit)

Here a swatch with CND Crimson sparkle, it is a weird picture but I just couldn't get the effect showing in a picture.
Happy New Year everyone and be careful with fireworks!
