Diwali Festival and Happy B-day Bob

Hi Everyone,

Tomorrow is the Diwali Festival and it is also the birthday of the sweet Roberta over at Bob Plays with Polish. She asked on her blog and facebook if people wanted to join her Birthday Party and do a Diwali mani. I always love learning more about other cultures. So of course I also wanted to do a Diwali mani for her birthday.

Diwali also known as Deepavali and the "festival of lights", is an ancient Hindu festival celebrated in autumn every year. The festival spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair.

I googled images and read about it and this is what I came up with. I was inspired by all the candles and the red/orange color tones.

A gradient base with Kleancolor metallic red and metallic orange. Stamped the swirly image with Konad SN yellow and XL plate O and stamped the candles with Konad SN white from Winstonia W215 (later colored over the candles with black, blue orange and yellow).

And another picture.

I forgot to take a picture of just the gradient base..sorry.

Happy Birthday Roberta! Hope you have a lovely day and may all your wishes come true.

And for those who celebrate Diwali..I wish you all a Happy Diwali Festival :) It sounds like a beautiful thing.

Thanks for reading.

Metallic Roses

Hi everyone,

Another short post showing a mani  I did 2 weeks ago. Just something really simple, but I liked the metallic stamping on the black base.

A black base from Catrice (forgot the name but it was from a Summer LE) stamped with Kleancolor metallic red and green using Nailways Spring Time - Love is in the Air plate.

And another picture.

Easter eggs and hatching chick

Hi Everyone,

Here one of the 4 Easter mani's I did the last 2 weeks....I guess that means more blogging or I'll be showing Easter nails after Easter too ;) (I am sure that will be the case haha).

I was again invited by Nail Polish Canada to enter their contest, always a honor and so much fun to be show cased between all those amazing artists. But stupid me thought the deadline was the 17th not the 16th haha oopsie. I did them like monday, so I should have just blogged about them then hahaha.

You can see all the amazing entries and vote for your favorite by clicking the link.

Base China Glaze Lemon Fizz, sponged with Konad SN pastel green, China Glaze Peachy Keen, Konad SN pastel pink, Konad SN pastel blue and Konad SN pastel violet. Plates BM H09 and Winstonia W212 using Klean color metallics and Konad SN black (colored with Konad SN yellow and Konad SN white).

Another picture.

And a picture of the sponged gradient tips.

Normally just before Easter I break a nail (happened to me 2 years) seems like my Easter tradition. And it is always my middle finger. And then looking back at my Easter mani's I am like well that sucks one shorty :P So I really hope I don't break a nail this week ;)

Have a nice weekend!

Happy 2014!

Hi Everyone,

For some people in the world it is already 2014 so for those I say Happy 2014 :) I still have to wait a little less then 10 hours before it is midnight here. Hope you all have a wonderful and safe New Years Eve. Be careful with fireworks.

Here are my New Years nails from this year :)

Base Barry M Multi Glitter 333, sponged with Kleancolor metallic green, pink, yellow and blue. Stamped the firework full nail from BM-H14 in these colors on my thumb. Made a stamping decal of the clock on that plate, colored it with Kleancolor metallic yellow and Konad SN white. Stamped the Happy New Year from Nailways Snowwhite - New Years A-NW00004 plate and also the fireworks from that plate with Konad SN white. The numbers are the plate numbers from BM-H20 and BM-H14.

I figured that when I put topcoat on the white with the sponged metallic underneath it would change color (that often happens with these metallics)...but in this case I don't mind :) and like it.

A little inspired by a freehand mani from Polish Dept who put color underneath white fireworks.

Some more pictures with different lighting.

And here before I put topcoat on. As you can see the stamping is still white ;)

Wish you all the best for 2014 with ofcourse also lots of polish, stamping and other nail art :)

Blue on blue

Hi Everyone,

I did these about a month ago when my nails were super long (too long haha) but I needed the extra space for some nail art back then. I thought let's share them today, cause I feel a little blue :(

I am not so happy today, I received my Bundle Monster products that I ordered with part of the coupon I won in their Halloween contest and I had to pay $25 (€18,46) at the door before I could receive it. I had to pay sales tax :( it made me a bit mad, cause that is almost twice the value of the goodies. And the products aren't even worth that much. And for me that just is a lot of money. And it makes winning stuff let's fun. Plus I just don't understand why a few plates and binder are charged for sales tax, I understand when it is done with more valuable products and even with polish, but something likes this never happened to me before. Thing is that when the value was below 22 euros it would not have happened, this was written value 26 euros :( Anyway let's show the mani a did a month ago...it was just something quick between some other mani's.

Base a light blue holo from DA (local Dutch drugstore) called Turbulent. Stamped with Kleancolor metallic aqua and image plate Pueen 32.

Some more pictures.

And some swatches of this nice light blue holo.

2 Halloween mani's with Nailways Halloween plate

Hi Everyone,

Today I have two mani's to show you :) I have so many images I want to use that last week I decided to make different mani's on my left and right hand :)

Let's start with my left hand.
Base a gradient with 3 holo's a light green franken, Nubar Reclaim and Color Club Revvvolution. Stamped with Konad SN black and SN dark orange (and SN yellow for the dots). Plate Nailways Darker Period- Halloween A-NW00016.

Here some pics of just the gradient.

I really liked how this gradient turned out :)

And now my right hand, the hand I always have trouble with to photograph or hold my fingers normal haha. So these pics aren't great but you can see the mani (most of it) ;)

Base a gradient with 2 Jade holo's Hypnose and Fascinio Violeta. Stamped with Klean color metallic black (Konad SN yellow for the dots) and all images are from the Nailways Darker Period- Halloween A-NW00016 plate.

Here also some pics of the gradient base.

I had my nails like this for a few days haha. I really like Nailways plates :) They now have 16 of their own plates, divided in 4 sets see their website.

Truckstar festival in July

Hi Everyone,

In July my boyfriend and I always go to the Truckstar festival, it's not really my thing but he really likes that so I always go there once a year. Today I'll show you the mani/pedi I've made for that and some Truck pics (I do always like the special paint and it's nail art inspiration haha).

Base Aly's Dream Polish 22 hottest pink (such pretty bright pink holo) Stamped with Kleancolor metallic black and Cheeky CH 51 (the stars) and made a sort of Truck from the Locomotive image on Nailways A-NW00012 Vive la vie -Vacation. I removed parts of it and added white for the wheels and window.

Another picture.

Since it was Summer I had to make a matching pedi too :)

I really like this Aly's Dream polish here some swatches.

If you like it too go check out her FB page: Aly's Dream Polish you can find a link to her shop there too.

And some pictures of some of the Trucks we have seen.

This paint would be an amazing multichrome nailpolish haha.

I love the husky's.

 Cuteee rattie haha.

There is always the caravan race, when the trucks try to loos or flip the caravan while driving.

Summer neon gradient: Turn Up The Beach

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for not blogging for a while but I haven't felt like blogging (some bad/sad stuff at home) that keeps me busy. But that doesn't mean I haven't done my nails ;) On Saturday July 13th I went to the Turn Up The Beach music party so of course I had to make some matching beachy nails. And also have some pics of that day :)

A white base and sponged with China Glaze - Sun-Kissed, China Glaze - Orange you Hot?, China Glaze - Surfin' For Boys, Digital Color Cream Make Me Up - F1 and Digital Color Cream Make Me Up - F20. And a holo spectraflair mix topcoat on top. Stamped with Nailways Vive la Vie A-NW00010 Beach Baby and Kleancolor metallic black. And a self made water decal of the logo of Turn Up The Beach.

My nails on the festival with the main stage and the music tower in the back.

Some pictures of the gradient base.

 With different lighting.

Some pictures of our day there, unfortunately 2 friends could not come so we were just with 4 people.

My boyfriend, me and my big sister.

Chilling on the ground with our stamped feet and the sun.

My best friend, my sis, and my boyfriend.

My nails and the Ferris wheel.

The view from the Ferris wheel on the main stage.

My sister and I in the Ferris wheel.

The rest and part of the dunes, beach and sea.

My nails and the main stage from the Ferris wheel.

The smaller stage and lotsss of people.

The other stage and all the food and drink tents.

Inside the Ferris wheel.

The see and the sun.

 Main stage at dusk.

With different light shows.
Me and my big sister.

It's getting darker :)

And some fireworks at the end.

And it was finished.

Of course I also had a matching pedi.

We had a fun day there, it isn't really my kind of music but I always love a nice party at the beach when the weather is good :)

Thanks for reading.
