Queens Day (Q-day) 2013

Hello Everyone :)

Tonight we celebrate Queens-night and tomorrow will be our last Queens-day. Our queen Beatrix is passing the throne to her son Willem Alexander. So next year we will be celebrating Kings Day...that sounds weird LOL. The night before Queens-day is always one big party night in a lot of cities here in Holland. With music on the streets and beer/ or soda for those who don't drink ;) everything is orange (that is our national color) and red, white and blue (the colors of our flag). There are also flea markets and many more festivities, but I always like the music (live bands and DJ's). So me and my friends are going to party tonight ;) So of course I've made Q-day nails again. Click here for my previous Q-day nails from the last years.

Base Impala (matte fluors) Tech, a really bright neon orange. Stamped music lines/ notes in the colors of our flag using SN red, SN white and SN blue Konad M22 and crowns from Konad M40 stamped with Kleancolor metallic black. Also added some orange rhinestones on the crowns.

The base color is really hard to capture so I took a lot of pictures with different lighting.

Saturday my sister and I went shopping (did not bought anything but okay) and we called it "sisters day" we always have sooo much fun on days like these. And we spotted the special Dutch Queens/King train. It was the train we had to take too, so that was really funny. When you took a picture of yourself and the train and uploaded it you could win some prizes. They call it the B to A train. Normally they have this motto that they (the train company) will bring you daily from place A to place B. But now they said we will also bring B to A that means the throne change from our queen Beatrix (the B) to our king to be (Willem) Alexander (the A).

So here some pics of the train and us :)

For all the Dutch people: Fijne Koninginnenacht/dag (Happy Queensnight/day)!

Christmas 2008: Happy Snowmen

Hi Everyone,

Today another oldie from 2008. Hope you do like seeing my older mani's?

Again I took a picture of my right hand, so I really think I had a broken nail on my left hand. Because normally I really take pics of my left hand or show both of them, never just my right hand ;)

A silver base (no idea what brand could be P2 but I do know I don't have it anymore) Stamped with Konad M12 and M40 using PSN gold black and SN red.

I really find it funny to see all my older mani's some are really not well cleaned up, sometimes my nails shape is different or shorter or reallllly long, it's funny and I do like the designs.

Queensday nails from 2010 & 2009

On April 30th we celebrate Queensday here in Holland. And ofcourse I always make some matching nails. I will make my nails for this year tomorrow, but today I'll show my Q-day nails from last year and the year before that ;) Our national color is orange and the color of our flag are red, white and blue. So these are the colors you see a lot on Q-day.

This creation I made in 2010:
Base China Glaze Peachy Keen with China Glaze Orange Knockout (this one is quite sheer so that's why I used Peachy Keen under it) it was sooooo bright, almost needed sunglasses to look at it. I stamped some crowns with Konad SN red, SN white and SN blue imageplate M40. Also in the same colors the dots from M79.

Here sort of a swatch from Peachy Keen with Orange Knockout:
It was soo bright so I had trouble to capture it's true color.

And now the ugliest nails you have ever seen!!!!! I made this in 2009 I find them horrible (people really liked them that day but looking back I can't imagine I had the courage to walk around with these nails ;) hahah)
I sponged the red, white and blue nails with Konad SN polish and rainbow glitter. Stamped the orange crown with M40. My ring and index finger have an orange base color (don't remember which one I believe it was a color of L`oreal) the tips I stamped with Konad SN pastel orange and rainbow glitter. The flowers I stamped with SN red, white and blue and imageplate M25.

I also wore this horrible matching ring that day, especially young children really liked that one :)

Tomorrow I will make my Q-day nails for this year!

Valentine's Day ideas part 6

Today another lovely Valentine creation. But I'm really bummed, I just couldn't get this normal on a photo. The flash made the holo effect too strong and then I couldn't see the metallic stamps anymore. But without flash it became blurry...so sorry for these bad pictures.

On the first photo you can see the colors the best and on the second photo you can see the design better.

Base China Glaze QT from the OMG Collection. Stamped with China Glaze Admire and imageplate BM11 and China Glaze Emotion and Konad imageplates M3 and M18. On my ring finger a light pink heartshaped rhinestone.

And some older Valentine's Day creations :) This one I made in 2010 for Valentine's Day.

China Glaze Lubu Heels with China Glaze Long Kiss roses stamped from M65. Pink hearts from M2 with China Glaze Admire.

The next one I didn't made for Valentine but it could be something you could wear at Valentine's Day ;) This is from the beginning of 2009.

The base is a french with some pearly polish don't know the brand any more, stamped with Konad SN red and green imageplate M40.

This I actually made for my boyfriends birthday in September 2009. It was his choice the base color and design. I find it also something romantic so it's also a good idea for Valentine's Day.
Base OPI Rosy Mistletoe-sies stamped with M65 and China Glaze Admire.

Photo without flash.

I'm planning one more creation for V-day, something special voor my boyfriend

Let's do it in 3D with nail art

For today I have Let's do it in 3D with glitter and glamour nailart. I've made this in March 2010 for a party of my boyfriends work and the theme of this party was glitter and glamour.

I used Konad SN black pearl and white, imageplates M14, M40 and M61. On my ringfinger I have a line of silver beads around the white diamond heart. And around that some silver and black rhinestones. Photo with flash.

Photo without flash under artificial light. So you can see the beads better.

It was really funny at this party there was a small stand where you could have you nails painted and decorated, I was curious but I'm also shy so first I didn't had the guts to go and have a look. But when a was finally looking it was kind of disappointing for me just one coat of polish no matter if it's sheer and some straight or curvy lines with a striper that was it. I was really glad I did my own naisl already and started to daydream how great it would be if I was standing there doing peoples nails with Konad, rhinestones and decals :)  (I didn't know anyone at this party so doing nails with be a great way of spending my time)

When I was looking some women noticed my nails and asked my if I just had them done there, I said no I did them at home myself especially for this party. And then they said oh okay and didn't say anything anymore.....it bit weird but later of find out that one of the women was the wife of the big boss. So perhaps she was disappointed that I did not made use of the hired girl with her stand at the party hahaha :) Anyway I liked my own creation and it was totally great for that party.

Next blog: China Glaze Kaleidoscope week: Visit me in Prism or something about my current creation :)
