First time color blocking (WON MPP June)

Hi Everyone,

The challenge this month in WON was to use color blocking, something I have never done/tried before. So I really liked to try this. Just like every month a color palette was giving and we had to use at least 2 colors. I always like to try all 5 or 6 of the colors on the palette.

First the picture with the color palette, the polishes and my final mani.

Pinkie, middle finger and thumb lilac base (P2 Into Lace 020 Lust) and ring finger and index light greenish base (P2 Far East So Close 030 Bluish green) used striping tape and then colored the other parts and removed the striping tape again.

Polishes used from left to right:
- P2 Into Lace 020 Lust
- Color Club Puccilicious
- Konad PSN Dark Purple
- P2 249 Dangerous
- Catrice 250 I Sea You!
- P2 Far East So Close 030 Bluish green

The Konad stamping polish looks a little more brown on the nail but it really is dark purple ;)

And some pictures of just the nails.

Thanks for reading :)

World Cup: The Netherlands- Mexico

Hi Everyone,

Tonight is another World Cup game for my country. We have to play against Mexico and they are good so it will be hard. But of course I had to make another mani and pedi to support my country. I love making soccer/ football nails.

Base Color Club You Got Soul-Ar (orange our national color), stamped the leg/foot and ball from Cheeky CH35, made the little flags with the stripes on Bundle Monster BM411, the Dutch wooden shoe/clog is from Moyou Tourist 15, the big ball print is from BM408, the Mexican sombrero is from BM-H24, the soccer/foot ball from Winstonia Store W103 and the World Cup name is Konad Brasil M49.

And I had to make a pedi too :)

Little and big soccer/foot ball from Winstonia Store W103 (first stamped in white then colored it with white and went over it with black) Little feet in the colors of our flag red, white and blue. (yes did my other foot on purpose different so it will stay red, white blue from left to right  ) stamped using Nailways Snowwhite- Traces and the wooden shoes (clogs) made with Moyou Tourist 15.

And a picture with both my hand and foot.

I am ready for tonights game..fingers crossed we will make it to the quarter finals :)

Thanks for reading have a nice Sunday!

Terschelling, World Cup and Oerol festival

Hi Everyone,

As many of you know I love going to Terschelling, one of the Dutch Wadden Island. I love the nature and feeling there, it always feels like home when I am there. We used to go there when we were little too. Every in June there is the Oerol festival there, this means music, theater, plays etc. There are sooo many people on the island and and it is always fun. This year we are also there and just like other years I wanted to do a Terschelling scenery but the World Cup is also now and I also always love to do something for that too....so I combined those things...

Terschelling is turning orange for the World Cup during the Oerol festival...with soccer balls all over the island and a beautiful orange sunset sky ;)

Holo base using many holo's from Golden Rose Paris, DA, Catherine Arley, Nail Nation. Self made water decals of the seagull on the pole, the seals, seagull, the lighthouse Brandaris, the flag from Terschelling, the Oerol logo, the boat. Painted the back white on some decals to make them pop. And stamped the soccer balls from Moyou Tourist 14 and Konad M49 first in white then colored them and stamped over the in black, stamped the green grass from Konad M66 and M29, and the flying seagulls are from Stampaholis ST01. Using Konad SN black, green and white.

Another picture with different light.

Also did a pedi ofcourse. Base Impala Tech with Hits Demeter (both Brazilian brands so hopefully they will bring us luck in Brazil ;)) The soccer balls from Konad M49 and self made water decals from the Terschelling flag and Oerol logo.

And my hand with my toes together. A bumped my toe while it was still wet so the ball is not round anymore haha, tried to fix it.

I usually also post some pictures of our vacation there. But I will do that in another post since I planned this post, and I haven't been on the computer since my vacation so those pictures aren't on the computer yet.

Thanks for reading.

World Cup 2014

Hi Everyone,

Here my World Cup nails for this year. Will do more ofcourse so hopefully we make it passed the first round ;) I did these earlier last week before I cut my nails. I needed them long to do this ;) And that night the Dutch team was playing their last friendly practise game, so it was fun to watch with orange nails :) Now I won't have much time to do my nails.

Base a gradient with China Glaze Son of a Peach and Impala Tech. Made some stamping decals and layered the stamping decals and stamping too. World Cup from MJ XXIV test plate stamping using multiple colors and layered it over a white image, cause otherwise the colors would not show up well. The Dutch flag is stamped with Konad M44 stamped all the lines seperately. The stadium, Rio and the Brazil flag heart are from Moyou Tourist 14. The smaller ball and World Cup from Konad M49 and the bigger soccer ball is from Konad M52. Used Konad SN black, white, red, blue, yellow and green.

And some more pictures.

It was really hard to scrape and not blend the colors on the world cup and the grass in the stadium and later adding a stamping decal of the little ball on top, but at the end I really liked this soccer/footbal mani.

And some pictures of the gradient base.

I really liked this orange gradient base.

Are you making World Cup nails? If you want to see more you can always search here for previous World Cup/ European Cup nails.

Tonight our Dutch team will play against Spain..so we need all the luck we can get haha.

Have a great weekend!

Balloons and gradient stamping

Hi Everyone,

I did this last week when I cut my nails. The challenge is a group was gradient stamping, the challenge in another group was postive/negative stamping and the challenge from BM that day was balloons. So I did all 3 in one mani.

Base Orly Goth, gradient stamped with BM310 and 3 colors Konad SN white and 2 self made mix. Later stamped the balloons from BM H20 and Konad SN black.

And some pictures before I stamped the balloons.

Some swatches of the base. Love the black with silver tiny glitter.

Thanks for reading. Next blog will be World Cup nails. Are you making World Cup nails to support your country?

Origami birds with the new Stampaholics ST04 plate

Hi Everyone,

Today I have a very happy Summer mani and pedi to show you. And my review about the the new Stampaholics ST04 plate that I used to make these. I received that plate this week and had to use it immediately. I think it is such a lovely plate. And the weather is really nice here too, so what is better then to stamp my finger and my toe nails :) I always love a matching mani/pedi. First I'll show the nail art picture and at the end the pictures of the plate. So I have a lot of pics for you.

A gradient base with China Glaze Son of a Peach and China Glaze That's Shore Bright. Stamped with Konad SN white the full nail origami image and used Konad SN black for the origami birds (paper cranes).

And here my mani with the matching pedi.

And a picture of both my feet.

Ana from Stampaholics included a little origami paper so I could fold my own paper crane. My peace crane will get a nice place in my nail room :)

Also a picture of just the full nail stamping.

And some pics of the gradient base.

I really love these colors together.

Ofcourse I also have swatches of just the base color China Glaze Son of a Peach.

I really like this color, I did needed lots of coats to even it out and make it opague but it dries really fast so that wasn't a problem.

Now some pictures of the 4th Stampaholics plate 1000 paper cranes.

Here is the story she posted together with this promo picture.

1000 paper cranes Sadako Sasaki was two years old when the bomb was dropped on her home city of Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. Sadako seemed to escape any ill effects after her exposure to the bomb, until, ten years later, she developed leukemia, "the atom bomb disease."
When she was in the hospital, her friend Chizuko brought her a folded paper crane and told her the story about it. According to Japanese legend, the crane lives for a thousand years, and a sick person who folds a thousand cranes will become well again.
Sadako folded cranes throughout her illness. The flock hung above her bed on strings. When she died at the age of twelve, Sadako had folded six hundred and forty-four cranes. Classmates folded the remaining three hundred and fifty-six cranes, so that one thousand were buried with Sadako. In 1958, with contributions from school children, a statue was erected in Hiroshima Peace Park, dedicated to Sadako and to all children who were killed by the atom bomb.

Each year on August 6, Peace Day, thousands of paper cranes are placed beneath Sadako's statue by people who wish to remember Hiroshima and express their hopes for a peaceful world. Their prayer is engraved on the base of the statue: This is our cry, this is our prayer; Peace in the world "Peace Crane, I will write peace on your wings and you will fly all over the world." Sadako Sasaki, age 12

Look at all those cute images ^_^

And some quick paper swacthes.
Just like the other ST plates I love this one too. I love that is has full nail images (2,0 cm by 1,5 cm) and single images. And it stamps great.

You can order this plate by sending her a mesage on her facebook Stampaholics or visiting her store

Have a nice weekend.

Monthly Palette Project May with "acid wash" technique

Hi everyone,

Every month in WON there is a color palette with rules. You have to use at least 2 of the colors and the technique rules are different each month. Last month we had to use the "acid wash' technique. I had never tried this before, so it was a challenge. Don't think this is my cup of tea but it sure was fun to try.

Started with the light blue Flormar as a base, then the dark blue Flormar, then the pink from Essence. On ring finger I changed the dark blue and pink layers. Acid wash technique so I used a q-tip with remover to rub over my nails so the layers underneath become visable. I stamped over that with Moyou Kitty 01 sort of gradient Konad SN pastel violet and Konad SN pastel blue butterflies with little light pink (almost white dots in their wings) I had to try using all the colors again :)

Close up of the stamped mani.

And here just the acid wash base

Like I said not really my "style" but it was fun to do.

Thanks for reading.
