The Lion King

Hi everyone,

In a FB nail group they were talking about the Lion King and that made me think of this mani :) I made in in Janaury 2010 but have never showed it on my blog before...don't know why...LOL But like I said several times I still have a lot of oldies to show you. I know I was really happy with these when I've made them, I love Disney :)

Base is OPI Sand in my suit stamped with Konad SN brown and SN gold brown and Konad imageplates M10, M42, M57 and M69. Selfmade water decals of the Lion King characters :)

Another picture.

And a swatch of the OPI Sand in my suit base.

Do you like Disney too? I would love to go to Disney (Paris, US, Japan).

Thanks for reading.

Christmas 2011: Winnie the Pooh cuties

Hello Everyone,

Today something from 2011 again. These nails were very special to me I made them while my mom was in the hospital and had surgery. We did not know back then she would never wake up again :( We left the hospital very late that evening and my current nails weren't pretty at all any more and I felt weird standing beside her bed with chipped nails. She wouldn't expect that of me, so really late in the evening I did my nails really quick. When I need to do something quick I always choose a holo polish. I did not bring much nail stuff to my parents place but I did had some decals and plates.

My mom knew I really like Disney so I used these Disney cuties water decals that I made and designed myself. I made them Christmassy adding the stocking, hat, tree, present, candy cane etc.

Seeing these nails makes me sad again, because she never saw them anymore. And I used to love showing my nails every week to my mom. And with these nails I spent a week until 2nd Christmas (the day she died) living in the hospital. We also slept there (well tried to sleep there was one extra bed so we took shifts) and  we only left sometimes to get some food and feed our pets. But my mom and dad's place is only 5 minutes by bike from the hospital. My dad never left and even showered there, the moment she did really died I wasn't there (I was just at home to take a shower) and I blame myself and it makes me mad. Because my sister slept a couple of nights at home because she couldn't leave her dog alone so many nights and nothing happened. And I just left 5 minutes after staying with her all the time and she died and I missed that :( it still feel so bad :( Some people say that maybe she wanted to spare me that final moment of turning really white with blue finger nails, but to me it feels like I let her down and I wasn't there for her and that feeling sucks.

So these nails really remind me of that period :( and are very special to me.

Base China Glaze Sexagon (my favorite silver holo). Self made and designed water decals of the Winnie the Pooh cuties. And stamped the stars from Konad M3 with SN red.

Also something weird, we did decorated the trees at my mom and dad's place and at my boyfriend place while she was in the hospital, because after the first surgery it went well and they were saying that maybe she could be home with Christmas...unfortunately that never happened. The Christmas decorations at my parent's place are always silver and at me and my boyfriends place they are red. So I realized later that these nails represent both colors of both my homes (I offically still live with my parents ;)) and I often decorate my nail room with Disney Christmas stuff.

But this year I decorated the door of out living room with Winnie the Pooh :)

And some swatches of this pretty grey.

Christmas 2009: Disney babies ♥

Hello Everyone,

I want to thank everyone who voted for me the last 3 weeks in the Nail Polish Canada holiday challenge. I can't actually win anything since I am not in the US or Canada but I did had fun and appreciated your votes :)

Today I'll show you something old :) I made these in 2009. Not so good cleaned up, but like I said several times I do like sharing my older creations too. And despite the bit messy cutticles I still think these are cute ;) (only my nails are a bit too long).

Base is China Glaze Snow with Nfu Oh 38 flakies. Stamped with Konad M12 the holly and the words Merry Christmas. Using SN wine red and SN green. The Disney Christmas babies are selfmade water decals :)

With different light, you see the flakies a bit better.

And of course a swatch of just the white base with flakies.

Boohoo my camera died...Piglet in the rain.

Hey everyone,
Last weekend during the World Cup speed ice skating my camera got a lens error. The lens did not wanted to go back in again. A few days before it already started to make a strange noice when I turned it on. I was hoping my dad could fix it but too bad.. my camera died :( So the next few weeks you will probably see some not so great pics :(
I do have the camera that was from my mom, but that one is not so great for taking nail pictures. It's more for filming and panorama pics...it is too advanced I guess, it doesn't have a macro button is switch to macro automaticcly but only when there is enough light otherwise is switch to night mode. Plus I am always scared I might break it too...and it was my moms so I don't know I am just weird ;) On holiday I also only took it with me on trips, not just with me everyday and to the beach and stuff.

Anyway some colors it will photograph correctly and some don't so sorry for maybe some bad pictures to upcoming weeks. I also used my boyfriend's phone sometimes for pics.
This is made with my bf's phone, my hand looks a bit blue but my nail colors are accurate.

Base OPI Cozu-melted in the sun and a bit of Nubar Absolute at the bottom. Stamped with Konad M13 and M79 and SN sky pearl. Piglet in the rain are self made water decals.
Here also some more pictures with different setting on my moms camera.
The swatches are actually not so bad color wise.

I miss my own camera...my dad has some older camera's so maybe one of them will be great for nail pics.

Minnie Mouse nail art on OPI If You Moust You Moust

Hello everyone,

Today I have another girly creation to show you. These I made yesterday ;) I cutted my nails again. There is a crack/tear in my middle finger of my right hand and so it will grow out faster. Plus I often like them a bit shorter for a while too...now the full nail stamps will fit again ;) I won the mini OPI Minnie Mouse set and the full size bottle of Nothin' Mousie' bout It. And couldn't wait to try them and use some self made Minnie decals on it.

Base OPI If You Moust You Moust. With a french tip of OPI I'm All Ears. Self made water decals of Minnie Mouse. And stamped with Konad SN white and M56.

Here a picture without the stamping, you can see the french tip with I'm All Ears better.

Of course I also have some swatches of the base: If You Moust You Moust.
A nice pink color. This is 3 thin coats.

I just love mini size bottles, look how cute they are ;)

Here a picture of the minis in their super cute packaging and the big bottle of Nothin' Mousie' bout It.

And some wheel swatches of the other colors.
From left to right:
- I'm All Ears.
- If You Moust You Moust.
- The Color Of Minnie.

Piglet nails on Catherine Arley 804

I'm really a Disney fan and love to make my own Disney water decals :) One of my favorite characters is Piglet, so last week I decided to make some Piglet nails again. (I also have some older Piglet creations on my blog).

Base Catherine Arley 804 a nice light pink holo with some lilac shimmer. Self made water decals of Piglet. Stamped with Konad PSN cool red and imageplate M37. On my ring finger 2 pink flower rhinestones.

I took a lot of photos because decals and holo polishes are always hard to capture.

Without flash under artificial light.

Without flash in daylight.

With flash.

As you probably know by now I like to match my toes when it's summer, so I did that again ;)

This time I chose a subtle creation, I used the same flowers as on my hands only on the tip of my toes.

Here a photo of only the selfmade water decals.

Isn't Piglet cute?

Ofcourse I also have some swatches for you of this nice base color.

With flash under artificial light.

With flash a bit blurry but you can really see the colors correctly here :)

Disney: Beauty and the Beast contest entry

Confessions of a Polishaholic was hosting a Disney theme contest :) I saw this a while ago and was really excited, then I read the rules and I was like oh no never mind forget about it. I don't do really free hand nail art and don't have any tools for that. But then Orlica mentioned her contest again in the comments on my Disney Flounder nails and I said I thought I wasn't allowed to enter, then she said I was when I just add some free hand details to my creation. So I decided to enter and did my best to make some free hand details ;) Ofcourse I'm not an artist like most of them who have entered, but I just love Disney and couldn't resist to make Disney nails....as you all probably know I do make Disney nails often :)

Base is GOSH Powder I made my own water decals of Beauty and the Beast, on my pinkie Lumière, ring finger Belle, middle finger Mrs. Potts and Chip, index finger Cogsworth and on my thumb the Beast. On top a coat of China Glaze Wireless Holographic topcoat.

I never do any free hand nail art and don't have any good tools for it like I said but I did my best add some free hand details. I made the paws and flowers with a dotting tool and a toothpick with Konad SN polish.

You can see the rest of the entries when you click the link above, and you can vote if you follow her blog. I especially like no 5, 14, 18 and 22. I voted for no 18...just love Piglet. You can vote for me, but I don't expect that ;) because they are really great entries and mine isn't that great. But the the main thing is I liked my nails and loved making them.

xoxox

PS: this has nothing to do with nail art but will you vote for my photo?

You can vote by clicking on this photo or this link: http://foto.pearle.nl/zonnebrillen/foto/1013 that just click on "Stem op deze foto" that means vote for this photo.

I look so dumb hahahaha, but I can win these sunglasses. Maybe they look better in reallife *lol*

Thanks for voting, I hope you will ask other people to vote, it's really easy just one click ;)

Disney: Flounder in the sea (on Nubar Absolute)

I really love Disney and last weekend I really wanted to make some Disney nails. I also like sea themed nails, so I combined both....Flounder from The Little Mermaid is swimming in the sea.

Base Nubar Absolute, stamped the bubbles with Konad SN blue pearl and imageplaes M16 and M34. And ofcourse 5 different self made decals of Flounder ♥ Photo without flash under artificial light.

My right hand it is a bit blurry but I just can't keep my hand still while taking a photo. Photo with flash (because of the flash you see the holo effect better but the stamping and decals less).

Here some swatches of Nubar Absolute. It's a bit sheer so I just a coat of China Glaze Sexagon first to cover up my nailline. But after that I used 3 coats of Nubar Absolute so I don't think Sexagon has any effect on the holographic effect of Absolute. It looks the same on my nails as in the bottle.

 Photo with flash.

Photo with flash other hand with equal size nails ;)

Photo with without flash under artificial light.

I have added a giveaway page on my blog, I will post giveways of fellow bloggers there :)

Disney Chip & Dale Christmas nails

My first Christmas creation for this year :) In Dutch we call them "Knabbel and Babbel".When I was little I used to watch a movie every year with Chip & Dale and Mickey Mouse and Pluto decorating the Christmas tree, I just loved that short movie and still love Disney so I made Chip & Dale nails.

As a base I'm wearing P2 Divine and a white french with China Glaze Snow (see pictures below). I stamped with Konad SN red and plate M45. And I used selfmade water decals of Chip & Dale with Christmas hats (I photoshopped the hats on them myself). It is not so perfect (the dots aren't that great) but I'm happy with it :)

Photo of my hand with flash.

Photo without flash under artificial light.

Here are some photo's of only my base.
On top of the white french I have another coat of P2 Divine to make it less white and more shimmery.

I will make some more Christmas nails and I promise to blog about my little giveaway next week.
