Kingsday (Koningsdag)

Hi Everyone,

This weekend we celebrated our first Kingsday formerly known as Queensday/Q-day here in Holland. So that meant ofcourse Dutch nails.

Orange is our national color so a really bright neon orange base (hard to capture), red/white/blue tulips in the colors of our flag. The crowns because it is Kingsday and a mill for that little extra Dutch touch hahah.

I love orange but not in combination with red/white/blue. But still I do it every year to support my country.

Base Impala Tech over China Glaze FYI, stamped with Konad SN black, SN red, SN white and SN blue and Winstonia W215 and W218.

Some more pics with different lighting.

They were really bright orange, I loved how bright there were.

I guess I'll be doing more orange nails with red/white/blue this Summer during the World Cup soccer.

Thanks for reading.

*Lest We Forget* ANZAC Remembrance Day nails

Hi Everyone,

The Saturday challenge from Nail Update is ANZAC or Penguin nails. I am blogging about this already because tonight and tomorrow we celebrate Kingsday here in Holland. Formerly known as Queensday or Q-day but since we now have a King it will be Kingsday. Anyway that means I won't have much time to go on a computer. So I am sharing my challange mani earlier.

I chose to do ANZAC nails and today it is ANZAC day so it isn't even that bad that I blog about these now ;) When I was googling to find out what ANZAC day meant I saw this pretty picture of a poem. And that became my inspiration. Will post that picture too.

I am really proud of how thes turned out, I even did freehand and I don't do freehand much haha. Cause I am not good at it. Even my boyfriend liked these nails.

Base Saran wrap with Catrice C01 Pebble Beach, Konad SN white and Konad SN black. Used Konad M36 and M36-I for the SN green leaves, flower buds etc. With Konad SN black I stamped the big cross from Konad S3, the words "Lest We Forget' are from the tittles of Nailways plates. The little cross is part of FUN5. The soldier is the man from the dancing love couple on Messy Mansion MM03 and freehanded him an arm, hand, hat/helmet, rifle/gun. And freehanded the poppies with Konad SN red, SN black and a little SN yellow.

My nails together with my inspiration
Here a link to the poem picture

And some pictures of just the saran wrap base.

I also really liked this base.

For all my Australian and New Zealand readers, have a good ANZAC day!

For all my Dutch readers Happy Kings night/day!

And for the rest...I wish you a wonderful weekend :)

Gradient sponging and gradient stamping with a bunny

Hi Everyone,

This is my last Easter mani, really wish I posted them all before Easter but there will always be Easter next year. And bunnies are always cute to see ;) right? Will also still post the Bunny Tales story I did together with Fab Ur Nails.

Base a white from Essence with Orly Gogo on top (white with little silver glitter for a cute subtle speckled effect) Gradient on my ring finger using Konad pastel yellow, pastel green, pastel, blue pastel violet and pastel pink. Gradient stamping for the full nail eggs. Both bunny and eggs are from Nailways Spring Time Easter Bunny plate A-NW00006.

And another picture with different lighting.

Thanks for reading.

Bunny falls in love *Parental advisory*

Hi Everyone,

Here one of the 2 Easter mani's that I haven't showed yet. This is a bit funny adult mani. I was challenged to do a "happy" bunny by one of the sweet and crazy ladies in a nail group. At first I did wanted to share it outside that group but they said I had to haha. We can all laugh about this "nature"cartoon mani right? ;)

After this mani I did a complete story with 4 mani's together with Fab Ur Nails. Just like we did with Christmas. We thought that the bunnies should experience more adventures together.

"It was a beautiful Spring day just before Easter. And the Easter Bunny saw this adorable hot Bunny Babe and went Oh la la. He could not help what happened next so ding dong!!! Luckily the Bunny Babe liked the Easter Bunny too and Love was in the Air <3 "

Base China Glaze Snow stamped with Konad SN black and Winstonia W212 (bunnies) mirror stamped the bunny on my middle finger, also used that plate for the Babe bunny sort of pinkl bows, used HB38 for the egg and made the words with the titles from different Nailways plates. Added Konad SN red hearts also from a Nailways plate.

Thanks for reading :)

Earth Day

Hi Everyone,

Just a short post today with my mani for Earth day. I did these really quick before Easter on my right hand (always hard to take a good pic of my right hand haha). It is the same gradient as my bunnies in the garden. Not much later I removed this and also did the bunnies on this hand. Cause I wanted cute bunnies on both hands with Easter haha. But I also did wanted to do an Earth Day mani :)

A 4 colored gradient base (China Glaze Towel Boy Toy, P2 Who cares?, OPI Bikini Envy and China Glaze I'm with the lifeguard) over a China Glaze Snow. Stamping using CH33 (recycle), FUN2 (earth), Winstonia W104 (Earth Day) and Cheeky XL L (panda). Using Konad SN green, SN blue, SN black, SN white and China Glaze Towel Boy Toy.

Easter Bunnies playing in the garden :)

Hi everyone,

A few weeks ago I did a Cats playing in the garden mani, but now since it is almost Easter I wanted to do a Easter Bunnies playing in the Garden mani too :) You all know how much I love doing sceneries/landscape nails. And nails which tell a story ;)

Here they are playing in the garden looking for the Golden egg and making new friends with the little chick (that just hatched from his egg see my previous blog).

The neon green grass was hard to photograph and on my mobile I don't even see it, but I do see it pretty well on the computer :)

I took some more pictures with different lighting so you can all see.

A 4 colored gradient base (China Glaze Towel Boy Toy, P2 Who cares?, OPI Bikini Envy and China Glaze I'm with the lifeguard) over a China Glaze Snow. All stamping and coloring using many many many plates and parts of it and a little freehand.

HB32 (flowers), HB38 (little eggs and little bunny), Konad M29 (part of the ananas for the grass, Konad M66 (higher grass) Bundle Monster BM-H10 (big bunnies and carrot), Cheeky Jumbo XL L (wave basket with eggs), Nailways Snowwhite Weather Forecast (sun), Moyou Mother Nature 01 (other grass and butterfly), Winstonia W105 (big egg) and Winstonia W212 (little chick). Using many Konad polishes (white, black, yellow, psyche green, psyche orange, pastel pink, pastel green, pastel blue, pastel yellow, pastel violet, brown, orange pearl, green, and magenta) and Essence A Piece of Forever for stamping, dotting and coloring.

Here you see the neon green grass and stuff better.

And another picture.

I really liked this mani :) the bright colors, the gradient, the cute animals :)

Thanks for watching/reading.

Happy Easter to you all!

Easter eggs and hatching chick

Hi Everyone,

Here one of the 4 Easter mani's I did the last 2 weeks....I guess that means more blogging or I'll be showing Easter nails after Easter too ;) (I am sure that will be the case haha).

I was again invited by Nail Polish Canada to enter their contest, always a honor and so much fun to be show cased between all those amazing artists. But stupid me thought the deadline was the 17th not the 16th haha oopsie. I did them like monday, so I should have just blogged about them then hahaha.

You can see all the amazing entries and vote for your favorite by clicking the link.

Base China Glaze Lemon Fizz, sponged with Konad SN pastel green, China Glaze Peachy Keen, Konad SN pastel pink, Konad SN pastel blue and Konad SN pastel violet. Plates BM H09 and Winstonia W212 using Klean color metallics and Konad SN black (colored with Konad SN yellow and Konad SN white).

Another picture.

And a picture of the sponged gradient tips.

Normally just before Easter I break a nail (happened to me 2 years) seems like my Easter tradition. And it is always my middle finger. And then looking back at my Easter mani's I am like well that sucks one shorty :P So I really hope I don't break a nail this week ;)

Bad Hair Day

Hi Everyone,

Today something fun, I did this last week. As you all know I love being challenged and get creative, I was invited for a "Bad Hair Day" contest over at Upload And Share Your Own Nail Art Creations and felt so honored (she is amazing). I was challenged to think outside the box and use unusual things for nail art. So I used my own hair haha :)

"The moment you wake up in the morning and look in the mirror (pinkie)
Trying to brush and comb your hair (ring finger)
But nothing works you are having a bad hair day (middle finger)
Blow drying, combing, brushing...you even consider cutting because nothing works (index finger)
But then you make the cutest braid with bows (thumb)
And you bad hair day is saved"

We had to include a paper with a smiley face on it so she could see it was new and made for her contest :)
Gradient with Essence Show your feet Flamingo rose, Konad SN pastel violet and Essie Full Steam Ahead. Stamped the mirror from Moyou Princess 07 and colored it with a mini silver from Color Club, stamped the comb, brush, sciccors, blowdryer, hand mirror from parts of Cheeky CH40. Stamped and colored the girl on Moyou Suki 10 and used a little freehand coloring, adjusting her hair and eyes.  And added my own real hair on my middle finger and made a little braid in my own hair cut it off and paste it on my thumb haha LOL Also added one silver and one pink fabric bow.

Also a picture without the smiley face.

And this what it look liked without my own hair.

And some swatches of just the pink and lilac gradient base.

I had so much fun doing this :)

World Parkinson's Day

Hi Everyone,

I almost forgot to blog about this today...but if I hurry I will post it before midnight here ;) So it will still be April 11th World Parkinson's Day. I did a mani with the blue ribbon and the red tulips that are the symbols for World Parkinson's Day.

It was hard to capture because of the metallic polish :( So sorry not the greatest picture and only one.

Base Seventeen 523. Stamped the full nail windy clouds with China Glaze Sci-Fi and BM 312. The tulips are from FUN4 stamped with Konad SN red and SN green and the ribbon is from BM 321 stamped with Konad SN blue pearl.

And a swatch pic of the metallic base. This is also a great stamping polish. Got this a few years ago in Greece.

Thanks for reading/watching since I haven't typed much haha.

Enjoy your weekend.

NailNation Awesome Sauce with simple nailart

Hi everyone,

Today a mani I did 2 weeks ago. It was a nice Spring weekend and I wanted a bright holo on my nails, so it was time to use one of my NailNation polishes.

I really loved Awesome Sauce it looked amazing especially in the sun ofcourse. After I did topcoat on it it changed color...that was so weird. I know white stamping often changes color with topcoat but the polish it self turned more orange too. You can see the difference on my mani and pedi picture.

I went to the beach that weekend so I wanted something bright. The challenge that week in AIS was to combine stamping with other nail art, so I decided to do some dotting too (but I totally forgot to post that mani there that sunday haha)

Base NailNation Awesome Sauce, stamped with Konad SN white and Nailways Vive la Vie - Beach baby A-NW00010. And dotted with white and later went over it with Konad PSN psyche yellow and psyche orange.

Here you can see how the polish and the stamping turned more orange.
Matching pedi and mani (well not very matching since the color changed ;) )

And my hand on the beach.

And some swatches of this awesome polish ;)

Final a pic of the sunset we watched sitting at a bench eating and enjoying a nice cold beer.

Thanks for reading.
