Summer neon purple with red gradient and tropical flowers

Hello hello,

This was actually my first entry for the OC contest but I just haven't showed it on my blog yet... (like many more creations lol). You may remember the neon gradient with palm trees? And the black nails with neon sea life? Together with this one those are my 3 entries there. I just love making summer nails and most of my plates are Konad so it isn't that hard for me to make an all Konad stamping design. I had fun doing all this and that is most important :)

Base a gradient with China Glaze Surfin' For Boys and China Glaze Beach Cruiser. On top of that a coat of China Glaze Wireless Holographic topcoat. Stamped with Konad SN white and imageplate M29.

Hand and feet. For my little toesies I used Konad M26 for stamping.

 Right hand.

Hands and feet together.

Here some pictures of just the gradient base without stamping.

Some swatches of China Glaze Surfin' For Boys, with different lighting because it is always hard to capture neons correctly.

And this is how I have send it in for the OC Summer is Here Contest. Everything together with the things I've used.

You can see all the entries of this contest on their FB page in the photoalbum.

Self Designed Dragon nails..lol :)

Hi Everyone,

Today I have something funny to show you ;) I got creative and made my own images out of other parts of imageplates. I made these for the cool History, Myths and Legends contest of Nat from http://noholos.blogspot.nl/2012/07/stamping-and-freehand-contest.html This was such a challenge for me, since I did not have any stamps for this theme. It supposed be dragons above an old castle wall...lol :) I had so much fun thinking and making this. As you know I always love a great theme and challenge. This is actually my 2nd design I first tested both of them on paper. I will make my 1st design later. The contest is open untill August 10th so you should all enter too :) The contest has lots of prices and different stamping categories.

I had a hard time taking a normal picture because the base was too shimmery and metallic so I don't have one without the paper sorry for that. But I was already happy that I managed to make a picture that wasn't blurry or too light. And also the base colors are color accurate here.

Base is a gradient of Golden Rose Paris Magic color 327 & 328. All stamped with Konad SN black.
Thumb: head M27, body H11, wing BM314, fire out of his mouth H20, sort of castle wall XL B.
Index: dragon fire BM12, sort of castle wall XL B.
Middle finger: head and body HB016, wing BM314, tail BM305, sort of castle wall XL B.
Ring finger: head M27, body BM15, wing BM314, tail BM305, sort of castle wall XL B.
Pinkie: dragons tail BM305, sort of castle wall XL B.

Here some swatches of the gradient base.

You can see how reflecting and shimmery it was with just a bit of light.

A bit blurry.

With flash it totally got lighter.

Have a nice weekend everyone!

Holo Gradient Skittle nails with Skulls and Bones

Hello Everyone,

I made this creation for the contest Play to the Judge from Concrete and Nail Polish. The goal is to make something you think she will like. And she wants you to explore the different sites she posted and her blog so you will get to know her better and will get an idea of what she likes. I have been following her blog for quite some time and also checked to websites she mentioned :) I thought it would be fun to enter this, I always like a challenge :)

I have seen that she likes holo polishes, did gradients before, on her blog logo picture she has skittle nails, I read on one of the sites that she likes skulls and also like the tv serie Bones. So I decided to make holographic gradient skittle nails with skulls and bones on them :)

Base is a gradient starting with China Glaze Sexagon on all fingers together with China Glaze Don't Be a Square (pinkie), China Glaze Kaleidoscope Him Out (ring finger), China Glaze Octa Gone Wild (middle finger), China Glaze He's Going In Circles (index) and China Glaze Let's Do It In 3D (thumb). Stamped with Konad M28 and PSN cool red, SN blue, SN royal purple mixed with SN violet pearl, SN green and SN black. Photo without flash under artificial light, so you still can see the stamps and the holo effect.

A little bit blurry but here you can see the colors better without the bling holo effect ;)

With flash you can see how pretty the holos are but the holo blinds the stamps a little bit on the photo ;)

The China Glaze Kaleidoscope collection is my favorite collection ever made, I just love these polishes, they are soo pretty, aplly great and dry quickly. Here some pictures of just the holo gradient skittle base.

Have a nice day!

Barbed Wired Purple Butterflies

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to use a purple polish today and really wanted to use one of my new Bundle Monster plates. So I did that :) China Glaze Shaken not Stirred was one of my untried polishes, don't know why I haven't used it before because it is so pretty but also a bit sheer. That is why I layered it over Essence 59 Purple Diamond which is a one coater. I also really like making a creation in the same color theme.

Base China Glaze Shaken not Stirred over Essence 59 Purple Diamond. Stamped with Konad SN pastel violet and BM323. Konad M36 for the butterflies, Color Club Wild at Heart (dark purple holo) for the big butterflies and China Glaze Harmony (metallic purple) for the little ones.

I used all kinds of purple/lilac color shades and send these in for the Monochrome nailart challenge on Polish Art Addiction.
Here a swatch of the base.

It is finally Summer here in Holland...yeaahhh :)
Have a nice week!

Blue grapes on green neon, Summer 2011

Hello,

I made these nails during my blogging break in August 2011. I love neons in summertime and also really like fruity nails. Have been seeing some great fruit nails lately so I thought of these and that I have never posted them ;)

Base is Color Club What a Shock, stamped with Konad SN green and SN blue and imageplate GCOCL A02.

I always like to make matching toes in the Summer ;)

Here a swatch of this pretty polish.

The weather is getting better here....yeahhh :)
Have a nice weekend everyone!

I got some awards :)

Hello Everyone,

This blogpost is about some awards I got. I always feel sooo honored when I get one. I always find it hard to nominate other bloggers…it’s hard to choose there are so many great bloggers. Of course I have some favorite bloggers but they often already got it. I always do my best to give it to people who haven’t got it or to bloggers who haven’t been blogging for a long time.

The first one is from the lovely Lillibit. It is Spanish but she has told me the meaning. You should totally check out her blog, even though she writes in Spanish we all speak “nail language” right ;)

It is called “Tu blog me inspira", which means "Your blog inspires me"

The rules for this award are:

1. Post who gave you the award
2. Tell 5 strange things about you.
3. Give the award to 5 others blogs.

5 strange thing about me:

Hmm where do I start I am just a strange person..lol.
  • Before I stopped biting my nails I still sucked on my thumb when I was tired or stressed it calmed me. Now that I have long nails it just doesn’t fit anymore and feels weird.
  • I always match the color of my clothes to my nail polish. So If I have red polish on my nails I wear red t-shirts, if I have pink on my nails I wear pink ones etc.
  • I also like to match my flower happy earrings with my clothes and polish.
  • I have an exteme fear of failure (that is why I am jobless) A lot of people find this strange because they say I am always so spontaneous and talk easy, and I gave presentations to big groups of people before. So they don’t get it.
  • When I go to truck events with my BF I always like to watch the special paint trucks. Then I see a lot of nail art /decal inspiration. Often walking somewhere seeing stuff or car colors I say that would be great on my nails, or I’d love to make something like that on my nails.

I nominate these 5 blogs that inspire me:

The second is from
Lacquer or Leave Her! and is called 'Por Tu Naturalidad' translates to 'for being natural and putting enjoyment before competitiveness.' I sooo love this award and it means a lot to me. Of course I enter contests and challenges but I don’t care if I win or not (winning is great don’t get me wrong but not the most important) I love the joy of making something and sharing. And as many of you know I need that distraction because I still miss mom. And found it difficult to deal with her death. I could totally been thinking of a creation for days for a contest or challenge sometimes I draw it on paper too. Love being busy with my nails.

Anyway she has a great blog too, you should have a look there.
http://lacquerorleaveher.blogspot.com/

The rules:
  1. Add the photo of this award
  2. Link back to the person who nominated you
  3. Nominate 10 Bloggers
  4. Tell me what makes you hooked on following a blog
I always find it hard to nominate people and Lacquer or Leave Her! already nominated some of my favorite bloggers too.

I nominate these bloggers:

http://www.fingerspolishmania.com/
http://mymakeupmania.blogspot.com/
http://nailsandstuff-shannara.blogspot.nl/
http://love-for-nailart.blogspot.nl/
http://nailcrazy69.blogspot.com/
http://noholos.blogspot.com/
http://amonailart.blogspot.com/
http://memasmanis-jackie.blogspot.com/
http://goldspecknails.blogspot.com/
http://nailsbymalinka.blogspot.nl/

What makes me hooked on following a blog:
Well I don’t really know, I follow all kinds of nail blogs but love the ones where people stamp too the most. I love looking at freehand designs too, but I could never do something like that. So stamping blogs inspire me more ;) Also really like it if they share other stuff and tell a story not just a pic with no words. It is nice to get to know people a little more through their blog. I also love blogs that show new nail polishes or stamping plates before they are released. Love to drool on them ;) And yes I also love pet pictures :)

The third one I got from
http://purrrpolish.blogspot.nl/ The versatile blogger award. I believe I already got this once and told 7 things about me before. So I won’t do it again. But I still wanted to mention it, because I feel honored.

And for those of you who love kitty pics check out her blog, there are a lot of cute pictures there.

Have a nice day everyone, and super thanks again for the lovely ladies who nominated me for these awards!

Neon Under the Sea Summer nails :)

Hello everyone,

I sooo love making Summer nails, so today another summer mani ;) I also made these for the OC contest, I just can't resist a summer theme ;) It's so much fun. I am not that good in coloring between the lines, but I am happy with the result.

My left hand.
Base is Beauty UK Midnight Minx - black. Stamped with Konad SN black and SN white. Imageplates M21, M24, M27, M29, M33, M34, M35 and M82. Then I colored over the white stamps with different sheer neon stripers from Flormar and SoEasy and polishes. Like I said it not all very neat but I still like it :)

This was my inspiration: a 2 meters wide velvet fan with neon sea life painted on it. It hangs in our bedroom, so I always see it when I go to sleep and wake up :)

This is how I entered the OC contest, everything together in a picture.

Right hand (even less neater :P).

 Hands and feet.

Hand and foot.

Here a swatch of this nice black polish. It really applied great and was in 2 coats opaque.

Still hoping for nice warm sunny weather....next week will be better, sooo they say ;)

Thanks for sending the sun to me last weekend, we kept it dry and also saw the sun. But it did rain a lot before so the beach was flooded, but I danced on bare feet in the puddles :)

Have a nice week.

Summer Neon Gradient: Turn Up The Beach

Hello everyone,

Today I have a summer neon gradient to show you :) Still have more of them from a few weeks ago, but these I made this week. I am going to a dance festival on the beach today that is called Turn Up the Beach. Not really my kind of music, but I think it would be fun anyway with my friends. Although the weather forecast is really really bad, with lots of rain and only 17 degrees Celsius (that is like 63 degree Fahrenheit). I first had a different ring finger (that was my entry for the OC contest) but later changed it with a decal for the Turn Up The Beach festival :)

I did this neon gradient base a while ago with a blue cow print on it, that was the first time I tried sponging with all the colors on one sponge at the same time. Back then I already knew I was gonna do it again for this festival but with palm trees on it :)

Base P2 Ship Ahoi! 010 Pure White. Sponged with all 6 colors of the China Glaze Poolside collection. And added China Glaze Wireless Holographic on top. Stamped with Konad SN black and imageplate S2. And a self made water decal on my ring finger of the logo from the festival.

Here you can see how it first look liked :)
 Left hand.

 Right hand.

 Hands and feet :)

Everything together, this is how I send it in for the OC Summer is Here nail art contest on their FB page.

Last month was my B-day and for my B-day I hosted a contest on Adventures in Stamping Group on facebook... I love that group. The theme for that contest was Fun in the Sun. A lot of my followers are a member there so you all now this ;) But if you're not you can see all the lovely entries there if you join this group. Below you can see the photo I made as an album cover for all the entries. A collage of some of mine summer themed creations I made over the years.

Have a nice weekend everyone, and please sent some sun to this small cold rainy country ;)

Blue with butterflies and holo

Here something I did a month ago. Not really one of my favourites but it was just something I made fast and I wanted to use one of my untried polishes.

Base is Catrice 400 Blue Cara Ciao with Golden Rose Magic no 327 on top. The photos don't do this polish justice ;) Stamped with Konad M73 and Nfu Oh 65 and Konad M41 and SN white. Added some big blue transparent glitter on the butterflies in the middle.

 Different light.

Only the full nail stamping with M73 and Nfu Oh no 65.

Here some swatches, but it really looked soooo much prettier in real life. So saw more kinds of blue also turquoise.

I do really like blue nail polish :)

Minnie Mouse nail art on OPI If You Moust You Moust

Hello everyone,

Today I have another girly creation to show you. These I made yesterday ;) I cutted my nails again. There is a crack/tear in my middle finger of my right hand and so it will grow out faster. Plus I often like them a bit shorter for a while too...now the full nail stamps will fit again ;) I won the mini OPI Minnie Mouse set and the full size bottle of Nothin' Mousie' bout It. And couldn't wait to try them and use some self made Minnie decals on it.

Base OPI If You Moust You Moust. With a french tip of OPI I'm All Ears. Self made water decals of Minnie Mouse. And stamped with Konad SN white and M56.

Here a picture without the stamping, you can see the french tip with I'm All Ears better.

Of course I also have some swatches of the base: If You Moust You Moust.
A nice pink color. This is 3 thin coats.

I just love mini size bottles, look how cute they are ;)

Here a picture of the minis in their super cute packaging and the big bottle of Nothin' Mousie' bout It.

And some wheel swatches of the other colors.
From left to right:
- I'm All Ears.
- If You Moust You Moust.
- The Color Of Minnie.
- I'm All Ears with a coat of Nothin' Mousie' bout It.
- If You Moust You Moust with a coat of Nothin' Mousie' bout It.
- The Color Of Minnie with a coat of Nothin' Mousie' bout It.
