♥ Spring Showers and April Flowers ♥

Hi everyone,

Today I'll show you a Spring Showers and April Flowers creation. This is one of my favourite creation I ever made :) It's a mani and pedi on both hands and feet. I made this for the contest of OCnailart on their facebook page. It was one of the the rules that it had to be on both hands and feet. It's an all Konad contest so only imageplates from Konad are used to make this. And the theme is Spring Showers and April Flowers. In springtime you need the showers for the flowers, so I made a happy spring flower landscape/scenery and on my ring finger a spring shower ;) with rain and dark clouds.

First my left hand.
The base is Essence You Rock 05 Speed of Light Blue (sky) and OPI Bikini Envy (grass) on top of those there are holo polishes (I just love holo) Nubar Absolute (sky) and Golden Rose Holographic 115 (grass). The ring finger is a mixed of Catherine Arley with Nubar Absolute (darker sky) and Nubar Reclaim with Golden Rose Holographic 115.

I'll try to explain finger by finger what I've used for stamping.

Pinkie: M23 for the plants with orange flower (SN green and SN dark orange), M32 for the white flower with leafs (SN white and SN green) M78 for the butterfly (SN blue and PSN psyche pink) and M79 for the clouds (SN white). With a dotting I made the SN dark orange dot in the white flower.

Ring finger: M13 (the blood drops) for the rain (SN royal purple), M29 (the top of the pineapple) for the grass (SN green), M32 for the flower with leafs (PSN cool red and SN green), M79 for the clouds (SN white mixed with SN black) and Konad Coraline imageplate C05 for the mouse (SN black). With a dotting I made the SN yellow dot in the red flower.

Middle finger: M29 (the top of the pineapple) for the grass (SN green), M32 for the 4 flowers with leafs (SN dark orange, SN white, PSN cool red), M66 for the higher grass (SN green), M79 for the clouds (SN white) and Konad Coraline imageplate C01 for the sun (SN yellow). With a dotting I made the SN yellow and SN dark orange dots in the flowers.

Index: M5 for the dragonfly (SN blue and SN pink pearl), M23 for the plants by the water (SN green),M29 (the top of the pineapple) for the grass (PSN olive green), M66 for the lily pad (SN green), M79 for the clouds (SN white) and Konad Coraline imageplate C05 for the frog that is jumping away (SN green). Sponged the water with SN pastel blue and added some Nubar Absolute on top.

Thumb: M1 for the duck, first stamped it with SN yellow then tried to color it with SN yellow, stamped it again with PSN light gray,M32 for the flower (PSN cool red) M66 for the lily pad and higher grass (SN green), M79 for the clouds (SN white). Sponged the water with SN pastel blue and added some Nubar Absolute on top. With a dotting tool I made the SN black eyes on the duck and his SN dark orange feet and beak and also the SN yellow dot in the flower.

My right hand:
I used the same imageplates and stamping polished and tried to mirror the image when it was possible.

And now my feet :) (for those of you who don't like feet...skip this part :))
The base is also Essence You Rock 05 Speed of Light Blue (sky) and OPI Bikini Envy (grass) on top of those there are holo polishes (I just love holo) Nubar Absolute (sky) and Golden Rose Holographic 115 (grass).

Big toe: M29 (the top of the pineapple) for the grass (SN green), M32 for the flowers (SN yellow), M66 for the higher grass (SN green), M78 for the butterfly (PSN cool red and SN blue) and M79 for the clouds (SN white). With a dotting I made the SN dark orange dots in the flowers.

Rest of my toes: M79 for the clouds (SN white).

Left hand and foot.

Everything together.

And here you can see my entry for the contest from OCnailart on their facebook page. The photo had to include the supplies you've used.

I hope you all like it? It did took me some time but I am very happy with the result. I made this a few weeks ago, but my feet still look like that :) The contest ends April 30th so you all could still enter too :)

Landscape: ♥ my new spring/summer nails 2011 ♥

Today I finally show you my new spring/summer landscape nails from this year. I made them this weekend. And personally really like them, can't stop looking at my nails. Especially when it's raining outside, they just make me happy :)

(You can click on the photo to enlarge it)
Base Essence 05 Speed of light blue from the You Rock Limited Edition, Golden Rose holographic color 115 for the green and Nubar Absolute for the blue. For the water I used the same colors first the Essence one and then a coat of Nubar.

Imageplates: C01 (Konad Coraline) for the sun, S2 part of the palm tree for some grass, M23 for the red flowers and leafs, M66 for some plants and grass, M79 for the clouds, HB32 for the small flowers and butterfly and HB34 for the flamingos, swan, frog, dragonfly and birds.

For stamping I used all Konad SN or PSN polishes: pop green, olive green, green, violet pearl, blue pearl, psyche pink, pink pearl, yellow, white, cool red and pastel orange.

I also used some Essence nail art pens and a dotting tool to add some details like the flamingos beak and feet, the swan eyes and beak and the middle of the flowers.

Some people asked me if my right hand would look the same as my left, so here a photo of my right hand ;)

This weekend my nails and I ;) visited Giuditta place. She had just received her nail polish wall displays/racks and did not had any tools/supplies to hang them up on her wall. So I immediately asked my dad if he had any screws for me and if I could borrow his tools....and there I went to the railway station to get on the train with everything. It was soooo hot that day luckily Giuditta picked me up at the station with her bike so all the heavy stuff could go in het bicycle bags. It was a long walk to her home but in the mean time we had a lot of time to chat and visit some stores :)

We had so much fun that day, especially when I was saying/grumbling that my dad gave me the smallest screwdrivers I had ever seen and he probably thought.."Oh women have small hands or something" and after we were done I found the handle where I supposed had click them in.....hahaha I felt sooo stupid and dumb. Another hilarious thing was when we were rearranging her nail polishes by brand and color she said... "Oh those two really look a like" and then she picked them up and looked at the bottom and saw a big surprise....THEY WERE THE SAME ;)  and both of them she bought recently. She gave one bottle to me, as a thank you gift a long with some decals she received that day, for helping that day.....thank you so much ♥
Here you can see my new friend (Color Club Total Mystery) going to his new home in the train ;) with some typical grass landscape behind it through the window. Also added the decals to the photo. Once again thanks Giuditta for that day, I really needed that.

If you want to see Giuditta' stash and read more you can visit her blog here:

There also is this hilarious/ridiculous photoshopped photo of me there, don't look at that please ;)

I'm really happy with this creation and don't want to remove it, but friday I have it on my nails for a week and then I won't be able to do my nails again untill tuesday, I don't think they will survive that long :( So I think I do have to say goodbye to them friday ;)

Landscape: spring nails from 2010

I love to make landscape/scenery nails :) That can be all kinds of landscapes: winter, summer, spring, under water etc. Today I made some summer/spring landscape nails (I'll show them after the weekend) I thought it would be fun to show my older spring landscape nails first. I made this in March 2010 I did not had a blog back then. I did wrote a guest blog on my nail friend Michelle's blog: Passion for Nails.

I stamped the base with Konad SN polishes (apple green, pastel blue, white, sky blue) while it was still wet I added some green and blue rainbow glitter on top. I stamped with imageplates C01 (Konad Coraline), M79, M66, M36 and M23 and different kinds of Konad SN polishes (white, pop green, jungle green, psyche pink, violet pearl, pastel pink, yellow).

Here a photo of just the sponge base.

I first made this idea on a huge nail tip.

I did not had any idea of I could make this fit on my own nails, I knew my nails were long but not that long or big. You can see the difference in size below ;)

Here another photo with some different light.

I'm sorry for not blogging and commenting on your blogs that much lately, last week I was on my short holiday and this week I received some bad news about my mother so my mind wasn't really in to that.

Have a nice weekend!

China Glaze DV8 with "sea theme" nail art

In my next blog you saw the swatches of this gorgeous polish, now let's show the nail art. I love the sea, beach, fishes, dolphins, seahorses...so every year I make a creation or two with this theme. A couple of them you have already seen in previous blogs. For this creation I was inspired by a creation from Glammed Up and I made this for the song Challenge on Polish Hoarder Disorder. I didn't had a blog back then. The song I chose was Disney's Under the Sea of the Little Mermaid :) This is from August 2010.

Photo with flash. The base is China Glaze DV8 and I used a lot for the nail art. On my ring finger a self made decal of a turtle with some big green glitter on top of it. The stamping plates I used are Konad M16, M21, M23, M27, M35, M76, Konad Coraline plate C05, GCOCL plates B01 and C01, Essence plates and some Bundle Monster plates BM03, BM04, BM08, BM09, BM12.

For the stamping and coloring I used Konad  SN black, white, red, green, pastel blue, jungle green, psyche pink, China Glaze Up all Night, Emerald Sparkle, Yellow Polkadot Bikini, Color Club What a Shock and Golden Rose Holographic color 111.

I also used the Konad gold and silver glitter striper to color the seahorse and anchor.
Photo without flash, here you can see the glitter better.

Ofcourse I also wanted to match my feet :) because it was Summer.

I just stamped some light blue bubbles and a water decal of the turtle from Finding Nemo on my big toe.

Some people were curious if my right hand looked about the same as my left so here a photo of my right hand.
Somehow I always hold my right hand weird while taking a picture with my left hahaha :)

Under the sea
Under the sea
Darling it's better
Down where it's wetter
Take it from me
Up on the shore they work all day
Out in the sun they slave away
While we devotin'
Full time to floatin'
Under the sea

This song makes me really happy :) also the Dutch version of it!
